Do I really need to paint my walls white?

I am in the process of sorting out a small grow space, two of the walls are currently cream with the remaining wall matte white.

So is there really any benefit in painting the cream walls white or covering the whole space in Mylar?

either use a reflective sheeting you can get from hardware stores, or yes paint your walls white. its not a must, you can use other materials

Flat white mold resistant paint. It has refletive properties to it. You can use also mylar, panda film, and damn forgot the name of the best one in terms of reflective properties.

Yes but slight. Waxing a car for does improve its mpg consumption but very little. I would be more worried with how frequent you water the plant than how close your walls are to white. If i were in a rental I would say leave it

Go with the matt white!!!!!!! A mate of mine called round the other day who hasnt really thought out his growing space properly. He thought that i had a 600w HPS the same as himself, but hes not painted his walls white.

Im using a 400w HPS and he thought he was going to go blind after looking into my room and questioned me as to whether i was using a 600 or 400w bulb. As he is using a 600w lamp with nowhere near as much reflectivity in his room as i get in mine.

Simply because i painted the walls white.:weed:

I use a closet to grow.. where i painted the walls. Also used a panda/mylar tent in the past.. i thought the tent was a bit better. Just my 2 cent

Cheers for the replies.

I'm using CFL so I don't reckon it will matter much.

I don't think I'll bother.
paint is cheap, if its a available option i say it is well worth it to get a nice fresh coat of a good flat white paint, it will increase the amount of light your plante get by alot and part of growing good herb is having good light.

it will literally take you maybe an hour to paint a small space with a roler and it will be well worth the time and money spent, especially if your using CFL's as they dont put out as much light so you want to utilize as much as possible.
