figured I would post the new room, almost finished. This room is raised off the concrete floor in the basement about 4 inches with air exchange at each end to allow no moisture build up. veg room is up and running, and flower room should be done this next week. Just need to finish the duct work on the outside of the room. All walls are insulated and have 5/8 drywall on both sides, as well as ceilings. I painted with elastomeric roof paint which is 97% reflective, and unlike flat paint can be washed with water. I felt it was necessary as I cannot keep anything white for long.

Looking good bud. When I built my rooms I used panda film on the first one, then went with those ultra white panels that you might put on bathroom walls. I'll be redoing the first room with wallboard in the near future probably.

I went all the way.. I am renting the space, so we split the cost of a full finish. 3 stage mud job and all. If I were to do it again I could of cut alot of time and cost going with something like the diamond mylar wall boards or similar. I was trying to think a little bit into the future, not always easy though. Just glad its close to done.

In the veg room I am working on a counter top on a piano hinge so it will close against the wall when not needed. Wanted to show you the front door I built, barn style at my best. Lowes want $300 for custom door so I built this for $120 including hardware. It is 3 2x10s and a 1x3" z brace with 3 inch carriage bolts. Pretty fucking solid, and for the price I am more than happy with it. Eventually I will stain it if I have time.

Ill post new pics and changes when I can

Looks good.

What was the cost (not including grow stuff), and what size are the rooms?

What did you do for electrical? How many/what size circuits?

Any plumbing involved?

I need to do something similar in the future, but I have a lot of planning to do before I start building. I decided to go with a few 5 x 10 tents for now.

cost without equipment was around $3500. Electrical was $500+ materials. each ballast has its own breaker, a total of 9 circuits in that room take up a 100 amp panel. AC is on its own, there is only a few plugs that share breakers. But we used 20A double pole to fill panel.
Total build was 9x25, 11x9 flower and the rest is veg/work/dry. I have a closet under the stairs that will be for drying. No plumbing at this point. It was not in the budget, but would be nice. As I said if I were to do it again I could cut some of the finishing costs and focus on other things. Plumbing being one. I will tap a cold water line into the one that runs to a sink upstairs. That will not be inside the room, but mounted to a faucet over a 50 gallon res

Quick update on plants.

All seedlings are doing great, loving to new room. Some have taken off more than others. Haven't fed anything, all are in Happy frog. They will go into 10 gallon pots with super soil once sexed.

Wow man, looks good! It's been a while since I've been on RIU and I'll have to update how mine's doing but, what did you end up doing in flower there...Did you have diff. strains and/or end up trying some diff. things with them...did you just do all of the above?? I'll have to see if I can pick up where I left off w/regards to your grow...Either way, looking good man!

Not to hijack or anything but here's a dated pic.(~3 weeks ago) of mine from a while back...When I update, I'll include more recent pics.

nice to see the pics man, how you been.. Glad to see you found this thread, glad someone is posting on it lol.

That pic is dated I put up, about 2 or 2 1/2 weeks old. I have 10 plants in flower now, all different stains. Trying to find some keepers. I have a steady supply of seedlings to rotate in when they come out. Ill snap some shots tomorrow if I have time. I just finished running a water line into the veg room for the chlorine filter.
If anyone else if following this sorry for the lack of updates, Ill try to get on the ball a little more

Hey Bro ... Things go both ways :-) All the way home I cried. The wife asked me if I was feeling okay, and I just started crying more. My rooms had been empty or about two months, due to not being able medically wise to do it, nor afford the cost o beans with my daughters wedding. When you started saying you want this and that, I was speechless. I was not expecting what you did, and that to me was a very humble feeling. Life is a two way street, and I have always believed in helping out my fellow Brothers and Sisters if possible. Sort of like Mainers helping out fellow Mainers during times of need, like when we had the bad ice storm of '98.

We, the wife and I, will never forget the friend that we met today. The same thing goes Brother ... If you need anything, anything at all, I will be there for you :-)

Looking very forward with the updates :-) By the way, the Veg Station looks great with all the new greenery :-)

Thanks so very much Bro :-) Stay Safe .... Peace

I came to RIU a few days ago, been hanging out at Grasscity, to research and help plan my new room that I will be building, and I find this! Already subbed, after I read the first post. Today I found this Mainers section, which has been awesome, sorry rambling.

Thanks for sharing your build, I'm looking forward to learning more about it.

Peace

good to have you man.. I have been slacking on the updates, but all is well. I will take some shots in a day or 2. Any questions you have about the build ask away.. I build all this from cement walls in an old basement.

Bob...how are the girls doing?
