Hi Guys, i have purchased some blueberry extract (Mango aswell) as i have read that you can add it to your water when you are in your last week before harvest, when you are flushing?? will it work? has anyone done it before?? if so how much do i add?? i really want to know if it is worth me doing it as i dont want to ruin the crop ;-).

Thanks

Happy Smoking :blsmoke:

Hmmm ... I would think this is akin to putting those flavored creamers into your coffee. Why ruin perfectly good coffee?

It could make the smoke harsh. Cure a bud or 2 with the extract added and see if it works out ok.

Below are the two processes in which plant roots select and deliver only
minerals
.
1. cell membrane of endodermis provides for selective absorption:
2. active transport proteins move minerals against concentration gradient
from water into cytoplasm

There are many people who strongly believe that they can change the flavour of
their buds and there are also companies who sell so called products, but every
Department of Biological Sciences, are satisfied that wanted flavourings are not
absorbed
through roots.

Never used these but have seen orange juice added to last 2 days of flushing and it gives the slight citrus smell and taste.Probably from the citrus sugars.

I've smoked bud thats been orange "flavor added" ...they used an orange extract.. Wasn't a crazy difference in taste, but the smell was decently noticeable..but doesn't cover any weed smell...I mean if my mom smelled it she wouldn't ask me why I smell like oranges.. The main thing is to make sure you don't use any flavorings with sugars in them.. promotes rot before and during cure.

I've done a little playing around with this myself.. not adding anything to my resivor.. but an easy way to get a slight citrus smell is to put your bud in a mason jar with some orange or lemon peels..

all in all IMO nothing tastes better than straight weed.. :blsmoke:

i love you sweet leaf though you can't hear
oh, lord yeah......................

ozzy wrote that way before additives were the rage.

he knows.

pot taste good. it's aquired. kinda like fine wine.

i work in the wine industry and the 2 are quite the same. it's all about ripeness at the fruit or flower. vinters don't add anything to their vineyards. just good soil and water. when the sugars IN THE FRUIT reach the selected level it is harvested. and who knows more about flavors then winemakers?

i feel A LOT of the success of grapes is determined by weather. if no disease or pests arise then a good crop is determined almost solely on the weather for that season. i think this is directly related to sugar production.

heh.. I concur like a motherfucker. :joint:

but do you agree that sugars in additives could promote mold/rot??

sorry, i use turbinado pure cane sugar by the pound. during the whole flowering cycle. flushing everything 2 weeks proir to harvest.

last year outdoors i would water my 6 gallons pots with 2 gallons of water and 4 tablespoons of cane sugar. the next day it was definately visible in new crystal growth and smellable. it works IMO.

With the cane sugar you should add citric acid. Together they do some good stuff. They are the main ingredients in Sweet.

I read a paper 10 years ago about them together in the res. I believe you can get citric acid at a brewer's shop.

The suagr is a good thing Trent.rot only gets promoted in poor drying and the suagrs come at the end.Sugars make carbs which the plant loves and swells buds up to an additional 20% in size. Things like Sweet Leaf and Carb Load are made just for adding sugar carbs similiar to adding cane or molassas to your res.Im going to run combo of sweet leaf and crabo load to this load as Im thinking molassa or pure cane may foul up my aero sprayers .
