Yielding a Pound with CFL's

Attempting to yield a LB with CFLs. Some details are I have a $500 budget, plan on using soil (if possible) wanting to know how many CFL lights and what type.. thinking of a general time frame for this and how long it will take approximately. My space is about 5 x 5 and about 8 feet of height so that shouldn't problem. I need advice from experienced growers and I hope to receive some good tips. Thank you to all! and Happy Growin'

I am not sure that $500 would be enough to purchase all the fixtures and bulbs to accomplish such a feat...perhaps try to find a cheap mh/hps or something...but I just don't see it happening with cfls...maybe though...I couldn't get good results...not enough heat to dry the soil quick enough...slowed everything way way way down...

Yea I mean if ur just in it to do an experiment then go for it but if your trying to grow good bud then go with hps and u could stay way closer to your budget with a good yeild!

If it were practical to grow a pound with cfl's in a 5x5x8 place believe me, everyone would be doing it. Save your money for a while until you have enough for a proper setup. A pound is a bit ambitious for $500 indoor grow. CFL's are great for vegging though.

Since no one has chimed in for T5 yet, look at a 4 bulb 4 foot fluorescent unit. Mine cost me about 160 bucks, ran cool in my grow room, and got me about 4 oz of bud off 3 plants on my first ever grow.

Watch out for stretching, and you will probably do fine. Even still, a lb is a whole lot to expect.

I just upgraded to an 8 bulb fixture and am curious to see how that, coupled with knowledge from here at RIU and some training to keep the canopy level and even, I hope to double my harvest this time.

you can get a 1,000 watt hps for 200-250 bucks and you will yield a pound + with experience and you'll have mone left over for other stuff to get you through your first harvest and you'll have better bud and cheaper start up to yield a pound and up to 1,000 grams 1 kilo
better bud= more $$
