I've been watching this too! Hes is about the best so far I just want to see the envelope pushed! Go from the 1.5 watt cree's to a 7 watt wow! 231 watt vs 56! I'm sure this is where it's going maybe 2-3 year's down the road to compete with my 1000watters Ha. Ha. jack

Yeah.............but the guy sounds like a competitor.........his specific grammatical errors are a dead give away..............I email with a couple of led vendors in China and it's blatantly obvious IMO.............

I have 2 Plant Photonics' lights,
a 140w and a 70w light. So happy with the performance.
Saving up another 70w and a couple 35w side-kick lights.

This is worth checking guys, diy panels on sale employing Cree xp-e and Rebel

http://www.bonsaihero.com/ledgrow.html

here he posted his experiments:

http://www.ledgrow.eu/
I bought 1 of his lights after being impressed with his work.
Dispite the LED's being high quality the unit is flimsy
with LED's assembled on a cheap circle board. The 80mm fans's are noisier than
my 5 inch S&P fan and are bolted straight on the top with no air flow inbetween. The top of the unit gets so hot i can't touch it so i've replaced the fan with a Xilence but that didn't do much so i have a 6 inch clip on fan pointed straight at it. I will probably use the LED's and rebuilt a new unit.
Also the power supply is being run at 100% so could blow the unit.

I disagree with this............I also have the unit and yes it is light(due to the remote driver) but not flimsy IMO.......My fan is no where near the level of the progrow I had and is quieter than the 10 inch fan I have in the room........My panel and driver don't even get that warm in my room(85+f), but that may be due to the 10 inch fan blowing on it:)
Have you tried to source cree xp-e/ lumiled w a driver and heasink?? ........ I think the price is fair but your are entitled to your opinion obviously..........

wow... guys... thanks to you both.... it's crazy how different are your experiences ..... :D

Maybe he changed a few things after the first few panels were out? don't know !

@digimidgi, I bet you are happy with plantphotonics .... any more comments and/or pics on that?

Yeah Jubiare..........quite different opinions, but I wonder why he says"cheap circle board" and its a rectangular metal core pcb?? and why does he specifically state "80mm fans's" when its just one????
hopefully he replies back or shows a pic that he owns it.........

Don't get me wrong, I think his light is better than nearly all the lights on ebay.
Just a little bit more thought into it and it would be much better.
I'd happily pay extra. Well for not much more money I could bought another
70w panel from plant photonics, they are very well built with no
cost cutting.
