"Stand Your Ground" laws, are they a good, or bad idea?

No, because the federal government forcing people to buy insurance thereby creating intrastate commerce, which did not exist before the mandate, so they can then regulate it is unconstitutional. This "Federal Government uber alles" is pervasive.
they're forcing you to pay for medicare. SS too.

this mandate is not new or unprecedented, and it's long overdue. ya ever bother to check out how everyone else who pays less for health care does it?

Via taxes, which is constitutional. This mandate is entirely new and unprecedented.

I weigh 180 and am six feet tall, so no worries about me. Doesn't it strike you as an odd coincident that the food pyramid and the obesity/diabetes problem are coincident?

I take plenty of personal responsibility for myself and family. Politicians don't. Before the HMO act, I could've paid for my own doctor's visits. I'd have cheaper food, don't eat meat. Don't need SS, profit sharing. I could go on.

The government gets involved and ultimately makes it more expensive because of overhead. Government nanny state bullshit ain't free.

See, your meat should cost about 5 times my vegetables. Liberals are the ones who need responsibility. I already do.

it functions effectively like a tax. wipe the sand out.
In that case, make it single payer and a tax. That probably would fly constitutionally, although maybe not politically.

"Effectively like a tax" means nothing. The only way to make PPACA constitutional is to expand the interpretation of the commerce clause to allow the feds to regulate and control everything, which the Supremes might do.

Not claiming conspiracy, just pointing out unintended consequences and how the government basically fucks up what they touch, not to mention the basic "leave me the fuck alone" aspects of it.

raisch v gonzalez (or whatever the case was) was retarded. i don't think you can compare healthcare for hundreds of millions of people to growing plants in a closet though.

nice try.
It was Wickard V Filburn that fundamentally expanded the commerce clause. Raisch was a further abomination.

Now was that really necessary? You know Obama is actually friends with Republicans? Hes probably done lines with Monopoly Man Mittens off a Columbian prostitutes gash together. Why people need to attack others here and be proper nasty? It's politics, there's no such things as "real" enemies in it, so chill the fuck people, it's ok it insult others in politics but there's a line where it can cross into "poor taste".
Really, you're asking that? Every time UB calls someone a fag or retard, you gotta echo him. And you're complain about others attacking. You not only attack every time UB does, all you can is repeat his retarded insults. Picking UB to be a bitch to puts you lower than him, and he's pretty low. Look at my sig for your pathetic attempt to say something on your own.

I don't see anything wrong with calling someone a fag if they are a homophobic hypocrite with latent homosexual tendencies. His use of the word retard seems to be quite similar.

We already know. They wait 6 months to get an appointment with a specialist, another 6 months to schedule surgery. A bunch die waiting.
