These have been out for awhile now, no excuse for "not strong enough for flower" nonsense. Other brands do as well.

The buds near the bottom get 725 umol and the top is 875 umol, limited by nutes at the moment. HID/HPS ran 950 umol on top and 400 umol on the bottom. The HGL lights totally put more light on the plants with better penetration. I use meters and measure the light, I do not guess.
Id agree im flowering with bs right now and they seem to be doing fine!

Yeah I talked to george(the owner) their stopping production of that model and replacing it with the solarflare(mini??/you can see it on you tube) same dimensions as the regular but with half the diodes(20x5w) and cost under 300 bucks(not bad)..

PS i have a 15% off discount code if anyone is interested............looks like I can't grow our beloved plant for a while(sigh)....

He seems extremely bright.....lets just say he knows his leds....Did you know that that old panel is using osram golden dragons for their 660nm....I've seen those panels for under 300 which makes it a steal for those leds...

I so want to try them....but like you told me earlier....their really is no point to try them out on Oregano/??hahaha

Nice, i didn't know they used the golden dragons. wonder what their new panels use? think i might call him up and pick his brain later this week. where'd you find that 15% off code?

Their new panels have either silicon valley based(diodes) or from europe (germany??don't remember)(diodes) but not one chinese/taiwanese diode on any of the their products.. he said he would even give bin #'s if I wanted....full PAR readings and Umol readings for each model/ver I wanted....i say that's pretty good stuff and he's pretty proud of his products...

I must say my plant is responding like its under a 600 watt mh in veg right now using the solar flair and its 450 actual draw.

Are you adding any supplemental lighting to those in flowering or do you feel that will be enough?

from an other board:

the final results and opinions are in....

The solarstorm was able to yeild a moderate 390 grams. This equates to .63 gpw.

The original goal of this light was to replace my 1k and unfortunately I will not be keeping it. Of course, with more time to perfect the LED growing style I know i could do better but my trial period is limited. If i was replacing a 600 in a 3x3 i'd probably keep the light but I can't settle for such little weight when i'm used to around 700 with the 1k.

As far as quality, everything looks great and on par with the hps with the exception of size and more popcorn which I have said all along the grow.

I'll have the true test of quality soon when i'm able to enjoy some of the product so i'll be back whenever that is....

thanks for tuning in...

Thats dissapointing to hear! Did you run the same strain and do the sane style of training, same medium, nutes etc.. As you do with the 1000
