Im subbed on this one, as I just purchased a HTG 7 band 135 watt 6 weeks ago and I want to see how you do with this one (240 watt right?). I started 12/12 when I received it.

Actually, I consider mine an "LED grow" also--- even though thats just part of my lighting. Really, I think I might have more spectrum going on than any indoor grower around... unless they have cut a hole in the ceiling or something. I have two regular flouros, one "red" and one "blue" GE "grow" flouros, three 2700K CFLs, one 6500K CFL, one 150watt halogen and a 7 spectrum LED with:660nm Deep Red, 630nm Bright Red, 460nm Bright Blue, 430nm Deep Blue, 10,000 Kelvin White/Blue spectrum, 390 nm UV Light and 850nm InfraRed

(No. I dont have much interest in hearing about how halogen is the "wrong light", as I have studied its spectral output and it has its place and purpose in my grow right now)

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, hope you post pics along the way.

Then it is NOT a LED grow!!!!!

You are using other light sources..:-|

Yes my light is the 240 watt 7 band LED i love it. I was considering getting the 135 watt one for some more side lighting let me know how that light performs. Also feel free to post pics I'm trying to get some intelligent marijuana talk going on this thread! and don't worry many pics will be posted i like to document grows pretty thoroughly with pictures.... I just need a better camera.

Heres some pics of the plants after a fresh misting (: we use bio marine as a foliar spray it works IMO. Also its nice for keeping the soil moist between waterings. Enjoy:blsmoke:

Plant B seems to be a little behind it even germed slower than plant a, but i think she'll make beautiful flowers! Only time will tell.

Well, this is my first LED so I dont really have anything to compare it to, but Im happy with it-- other than if I have even small exposer to it my eyes seem to feel funny. Almost like a slight burn. That worried me, so right away I began to wear some welding goggles before going in the room. I go ahead and turn it off if I have some work to do in there--- getting me to the next item: I dont like how it doesnt have an on/off switch. Other than those, Im happy with it. I noticed the difference right away after hooking it up, the plants liked it.

Thanks. A journal? Me? Nah, I'm just a newb that started out with a zero budget. Literally, except for electric, no budget. I spent $15 total till 6 weeks ago when I bought that LED. All items were found in sheds or about the house. Not even potting soil was bought. My wife actually started it, as I had no interest. Shes smokin hott and just happens to get off on being my unconditional slave, so she's a great wife... but researcher she's not. She wanted to grow, so she bought one of those "Spot N Grow" incandescent plant killing bulbs at Lowes--- and proceeded to kill seedling after seedling out of some top notch bagseed we had saved up. I saw I was either going to have to paddle her ass or take it over myself. So I took it over and paddled her ass over something else. Its been a real learning experience since then and become a real passion for me. But at first my set ups looked like something Fred Sanford and Granny Clampett might have might have constructed out of items found in Fred's junkyard, due to the fact that I'm a cheap ass and refused to spend any money on it. Posting some pics of my wifes ass with "slut" on it (I have a paddle that has "slut" cut through it backwards so it leaves that part white and spells it forward) might have been cool, but not all that great in a grow journal. Maybe my next grow I'll make a journal-- if I can tame those ladies I keep in my closet as well as I do the one I keep in the bedroom. I'm trying. The buds are dense-- and all but one plant super frosty. I think it will be some pretty decent smoke, but I have ideas for the future that blow this grow out of the water. In short, I have been keeping my mouth shut till I feel I know a little bit about the subject. Uncle Ben saved my ass on one issue and I have since been real skeptical about listening to much of anyone else... I think the LED is part of why the buds have frosted up so well. I look forward to seeing how yours do under the same LED configuration.

hahaha i need me a slut paddle for my girl... but with those pics it looks like your low budget grow is doing better than alot of grows i've seen, those plants look really good. i heard that LED's can increase potency and resin production but im not sure if its actually factual, do you know anything about this?

I cant say that its a fact, but my months of research have led me to believe that with the right LED configuration resin production and overall product quality can be achieved over conventional lighting. It may be that yields, under otherwise comparable conditions, tend to be lower than HID, but the bud will be frostier. I also believe that the addition of UV light can help to achieve this same effect. And as I'm sure you have noticed from the specs of the light you are now running you have added some UV to the mix. Again, I dont want to put it out there that these things are true, its just what my months of research have led me to believe. I also think that my addition of halogen has been beneficial due to its high "red" output and infra-red (something you are also running a little of on that LED). It also happens that I have no heat running to the grow room and running a 150 watt halogen and getting some light out of it makes more sense to me than running a 1000 or 750 watt space heater during on cycles, as I would have to do otherwise. It warms the room to just the temp needed. It may be against conventional wisdom that a halogen is a good grow light, but I have never given a rat's ass about conventional wisdom, I just want what works best. Plus, it was free just laying around the house. It was my first addition after flouros-- and when I put it in the plants woke right up and started growing. I think they like the mix of light they are getting now and the buds are dense, unlike what some experts say about LED lighting.

hmmm i'd like to hope they increase resin production! lol but ill have to see for myself once the plants are ready for smoking. my led puts out virtually no heat but those cfls in my setup got the closet to like 95 degrees with a 4inch inline fan i was pretty surprised. i havent seen these led's flower yet im excited my plant should start flowering in the next few weeks.
