Ok i went to hydroponics depot the other day, and i told my friend not expect good service as we walked in. Then i was looking at different line ups (about to change) and it happened. some of the best service i ever got, a girl i think Megan came over we talked for like 20 mins she gave me some free samples of some myco's that they use to grow giant pumpkins. Very nice girl changed my mind about the place, i'll probaly end up going back soon. With lowe's and home depot right next door its super convienent.

You know what I noticed at Home Depot yesterday ?? They started selling Mini Split AC's which is pretty cool the ideal AC for a true sealed environment if you use a house in AZ its not needed all the houses here come with central AC, still if you ever build a nice grow room from scratch you know where to look.

Hydroponics depot is hit or miss with me, I have been hitting Gonzo Grow in Tolleson up and they are right at the same prices as the others. nice to have a grow shop west of the 99th off the 10 and yes they do talk open about growing too.

I think hydroponics depot is one of the worst stores. They don't really know anything about their products or growing.

i have been to sea of green(tempe), mesa hydro(dobson & southern), and happy harvest(chandler). mesa hydro probably has the lowest prices ive seen. for example the shooting powder satchets are $13.40 opposed to $17 at sog. also the AN bud X factor is like $57 and at sog its like $90. ive never seen these two items cheaper than this even on ebay! $57 for budX factor thats insanely cheap. However sog has a lot more shit and they seem to be able to keep their shelves stocked better than mesa hydro. but i did go to sog and tell them that mesa hydro had lower prices and they did price match on the shooting powder. happy harvest doesnt have that much shit but i think theyre just starting up. the owner is cool and seems extremely motivated to get u what u need.

Also ive been to We Grow. they have a pretty cool store the way its all set up. also the cool thing about that place is that u can tell them exactly what yr growing and u dnt have to beat around the bush, which for me is awesome cuz u can get good info on specifics like strains and what not. where is hydroponics depot?

i haven't read the whole thread yet, i will, but i'll offer my input from my experiences before i forget. i live in socal now, but i grew in AZ for over a decade. started out at sea of green, treg's shop where botanicare started in the back room with pureblend tea (great shit, the secret to our street herb being tastier than cali's imo :) ) but the place has long since changed hands and in recent years, i find it's been staffed by people with less grow knowledge than myself trying to tell me they know better than me, lol. fuck your overpriced, all-marketing-little-substance botanicare/gh clone AN nutes. on the bright side, they may still be the only place that carries Vitagrow cloning solution, which i can't buy here in CA and pick up when i'm in AZ. as we used to say, that shit could root a 2x4. homegrown has some really cool people i like, especially if that super cute girl still works at the west side location. since i left, there's a million new shops and i've visited most of them. so far, my favorite is AZ growing on tatum/thunderbird in NE phoenix (85254). it's a little hole in the wall joint but the dudes that run it are cool and sincere knowledgable growers. plus it's right in my old hood, it'd be awfully cool if they're still around if i ever move back :)

also, jesus, from what i've seen out there the commercial sinse is becoming the same bland crap as socal's. people must be running the H&G, an, etc. all-ionic regimens at recommended ridiculously high ECs. botanicare semi-synth is the AZ way!

it's pretty fucking hypocritical of me to say this as an AZ grower working in CA, but don't support the californian influx. keep it local. for years and years everyone told me i had to get my game up if i wanted to compete out here in CA, and I did that. came out here to find that the market is flooded with total garbage and most growers don't know wtf they're doing besides what they read on a feed chart. people out here keep thrips as pets, and refer to powdery mildew as "the 30% tax." daminozide, paclobutrazol and chlormequat chloride tainted bud are rampant, and i know there's a ton of it hitting the streets in AZ now too. unsafe commercial garbage, not medicine. the smells aren't there, the potency isn't there and the visual appeal isn't there. the underground hydro movement in AZ was full of skilled, knowledgable PROS before 203 hit. botanicare never pumped us full of AN style "pot specific" nute magic marketing garbage and we all knew products like phosphoload and the humboldt county's own line were only doing what they did by means of illegal PGRs. support your local old school AZ growers, they know better than cali cash croppers. respect is due to CA, this very much is pot mecca and a vast majority of the best genetics on earth come from here but there are a lot of people just in it for $, and AZ is an agricultural science mecca on it's own.
