BHO: Appropriate Containers and Butane

Was hoping to get some pros in here to let me know what kind of materials are cool to use as a container and also the appropriate type of butane.

The answer I'm looking for doesn't involve welding or drilling.. something simple would be nice.

I just bought a long tall bottle of balsamic and olive oil dip and cut the bottom of the bottle off.

Gas Mixtures:

Colibri > Vector >Power

Coibri is the most pure in terms of n-butane %. Vector after that, and Power is low grade Vector. Never use Ronsin or other cheap gases as they are not scent-free (aka added toxins).

You can always do a mirror test, meaning spray a few seconds of gas on a mirror. Every canned gas mixture (intended use as lighter refill) leaves a residue on the mirror, mostly made of paraffin waxes that are added to the gas mixtures to keep the torches lubricated internally. The only pure gas (no paraffin wax added and acutally 100% butane) is n-butane from AirGas, but you have to make sure to get the unscented kind. Many gas mixtures have scent added for safety, called mercaptans, they smell like sulfur usually.

ABS plastic.
But I'd go with something else, for a long term BHO extractor.
BernzOmatic Butane is cheap, and has a good notch at the top.

BernzOmatic is very low quality. Do a mirror test.

Pipe tape is pure Teflon. Brass fittings don't react with either oleoresin Cannabis or the neutral solvents I favor.

Labs use stainless because they can get it. If you know where I can get stainless in NPT thread sizes for prices in the $7.- range ... I'm paying total attention.
Plastics aren't ideal, but butane is such a nonaggressive solvent that many plastics (especially nylon and polycarbonate) are OK choices imo. Bad plastic choices would include the polyolefins (permeable) and anything plasticized, like flexible vinyl. cn

Vector 5x refined is cleaner than Colibri triple filtered.

Why would you say that? From what I can tell Colibri is a higher % of n-butane, and only has one other gas in the mix, propane. While Vector has three gases and a lower % of n-butane. The cost also indicates quality.

Have you mirror tested both? I find Coilbri has less parrafin wax.

Triple filters, 5X, that is all marketing garbage and means nothing. The type of filter is what matters, not how many times you run thru it. Compare an RO filter to a triple carbon and you start to see what I mean about not all filters being equal.

Colibri boiling point: -11 Degree Celcius (aka 12 Degrees Farenheit)

Vector has 89% butane and 11% propane.

I'm not sure why you're confused.

Vector boiling point: 31.1 Degree Fahrenheit

Colibri boiling point: -11 Degree Celcius (aka 12 Degrees Farenheit)

n-butane BP= -0.5 deg C, Propane BP = -22 deg C. I think the higher BP of Vector is much closer to that of pure n-butane.

Where did you get those #s? Oh you are adding iso and n-butane, calling it n-butane. right? Technically the colibri is higher % n-butane.
