I am a first time grower so everything is new to me. I have had several plants growing in vegatative stage for about 5-6 weeks and the stems on 1 is starting to turn purple. Is that a problem or is it genectics. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I am a chronic pain sufferer with a green card.

I had this problem before, sadly the yield turned out to be poor, from experience i put it down to bad genetics also bad lighting & ventilation seem to be a main causes.

I was just repeating what I learned here but I had to sift through the bs as well. I am not positive but I think its actually a sign that the plant is getting nutes and is healthy

it means the plant is sucking up goodies from the soil like a big pipeline.
I would not worry about it.

Keep them green!!
i appreciate your reply. I forgot to mention that its an indoor grow.
I using floros as well and wondering if that might make a different
in yeild and strenght. If i changed to hid and sodium at this stage
would it work or would the change cause to much stress.

Flros are ok for veg. but I'd go to HPs 100 watts per plant max, Then Like me you'll see an out door and go that way the following year LOL.
I did 9 plants and got 16 ozs.
This year I went OD and got poundage from 6 plants.

Most often purple stems are either genetic, or a mild deficiency. Usually not a problem unless another symptom pops up.
