The Official Canna Coco & Nutrients Thread

First time grower who just wanted to say thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. I pretty much treated it like my bible for growing, and I gotta say halleluah. I'm about to go into week four of flowering and my girls look awesome. Had a buddy check out grow and said he had never seen a grow that looked that good in person, just in magazines and on the net. It made my day, I hadn't had any input on what I was doing from anyone, so it was nice to hear from a guy who has been growing a few years. So yeah thanks in particular to Jberry and puka or pooka, can't remember. Really a huge help in understanding coco. Never have grown in anything else this being my first time, but I can't imagine me ever trying soil or what not. Here's a couple pics of Super Silver Haze and Durban Thai(so i was told). They're praying to the 600 watts that has given them beauty.

Any buddy want to guess how many plants?IMG_20110720_203451.jpgIMG_20110720_204410.jpgIMG_20110720_204720.jpg

Whats up guys? Sorry for everyone that hasn't been able to reach me... Hopefully lester, corn, and all the other many smart guys on here have been able to help? Thanks for keeping things alive!

I haven't been on here in months and likely will be unable to answer questions for the near future, BUT I just wanted to stop by and see how things are going... Hope everyone is well. (I will try to pop up more often but cant promise much right now.)
Yo Jberry! Hope you are well man. Good to hear from you. Keep in touch man.

Great thread, only just started reading it

Can someone tell me...i use canna additives: cannazym, rhizotonic, pk13/14, boost, and superthrive and liquid silicon all at the same time...is this overkill do u think? My plants grow nicely but am wondering if its a waste of time/money??

also, is coco better to grow in generally than soil??

Hey Switch. First time grower using exactly what your using minus the superthrive. I also use a little humboldt equilibrium for foliar spraying in veg and early flowering, and after that add to feeding at higher dose to help with cal mag once a week. Also added beneficial bacteria a couple times. Also foliar with the rhizo, boost and silicone all on different days. So I don't think it's overkill, but i think you should be able to cut out superthrive with you already using rhizo. Not sure, I could be wrong.

I've read people do just fine with the a & b only, And this one journal I was looking at guy uses only one fert and h202 for his entire flowering stage and kills it.

Anyone use Bushmaster in coco? Bottle says not to but wondering if anyone has tried it in coco or has foliar fed with bushmaster while in coco. How bout Dr. Nodes, anyone use this with coco? Would appreciate any info!

I've been reading for about 2 hours on this thread and its helped alot. I would just like to see if people agree with my line up I've pieced together from this thread. Gonna use the full canna terra lineup in a 50/50 coco, soil mix.(4gal.wonderpots) Ill omit the booster in favor of h&g bud XL. Adding great white, calmag, and budcandy to the mix. Using top feed drain to waste system. Small boy cleaned water. I might stick in some bushmaster and gravity when needed at only 1/2ml./gal. Sound good?

Funny there wasn't much mention of cost in this thread, aside from booster being expensive. Just figured out it will run about $1000 every 3 months. Compared to GO Lineup at $350. I think I just changed my mind, canna is as bad as AN.

i see your using bushmaster i just started bushmaster this cycle also
my 1st time i used it as a foliar spray and sprayed 2 times 3days apart and it worked great but 1 thing i should have did was let the plants veg alil bigger i wanted my plants around 5ft and bushy but their about 3-3 1/2 ft i sprayed too early so whatever veg to whatever size you want them to be and then flip the lights to 12/12 and use the bush master
i also used purple maxx and i think i over did it some of the sativa dom plants got alil burn
didnt use the gravity yet i'll be started that in about another week
just be careful when using their products they're pretty strong

A nice new write up from Canna on the CannaBoost, what it is, how it works, and recommended dosages (8-16 ml/gal depending on plant and medium or 8 ml/gal as foliar).

http://www.cannagardening.com/cannaboost_a_real_boost?page=0,0

I learned a lot from reading it about not only the boost but about how plants work too. For those who use Canna, I suggest signing up for their newsletter and get access to all their members only information.

Damn, now I'm going back and reading this before I hit submit and it sort of sounds like a promo. It's not, lol. I just had a lot of questions about their products and coco in general and there's a lot of good info there but most of it is in the members only part. Their also pretty good about getting back to questions you submit.

I finally asked them about using Rhizotonic as a seed soak to speed up germination and they said to dillute with water at 15 ml/gal. I'll be trying this for sure.

Well, I promised to check back, with the results of the product I seem alone in defending. I would like to repeat that for a year and a half I have been using BOOST, and swear by it. MORE importantly it is best used in conjunction with "PK" stuff, needs to be run alongside PK 13/14 and BLOOMBASTIC, or CHA-CHING, or whatever you 'finish ' with....this gets expensive, yes. So, once again this thread has come through to get me curious enough to give an outsider a shot.....
I didnt expect much here by switching BOOST to BUDXL by h+g, and running them side by side.........and HOLY SHIT WAS I WRONG!! In my area 5L of BOOST runs 550 and 5L of BUDXL runs 220, but the XL is 5 times more concentrated, so it lasts forever, and at about 12% of the cost it certainly makes itself attractive if you are constantly hammered by the overhead of maintaining your workshop.
Heres the thing......the BUDXL kicks the everloving shit out of BOOST!!!! I had to keep running comparisons to make sure it wasnt a fluke, time and time again the XL plants responded with stickier, more explosive yields!!! WHAT?! I am now 100% convinced that BUDXL can be switched out for BOOST, without messing with the rest of the recipe, at 1/8th the price, and makes a better flower! WOW, this will save me thousands! I was the biggest supporter of BOOST and I will keep a tiny bit around as a foliar, but adios amigo I now stand by BUDXL 100%......I give homage to the many of you who have lent their pearls of wisdom to lead me here, once again this thread is the best resource for an up-and-comers like myself. H+G also makes a shooting powder i am playing with for the final weeks of flower....Ditch the BOOST, switch to the BUDXL. -N
