Lemon juice to lower PH??????

Citric acid is an acid ... so it WILL lower PH. A couple of questions though:

1. Are you in soil?
2. If in soil, what's the PH of your run-off?
3. What PH level are you trying to achieve?

Well its a seedling about a week old now, 3 sets of leaves. Its in a rock wool cube, about to go into a hydro system for my first grow. Im using good tap water, but just to get it to about 5.8 - 6.0 ive been dripping a little lemon juice in the water and testing again and it seems to be working. Wanted to make sure i wasnt giving it something bad.

I can't say I recommend it, as there are plenty of ready made solutions to use that are really inexpensive, that have no other effects, its hard to say what trace elements and salts may come out of citrus juices.

it will lower your ph, but at what cost is the question.
