Open your eyes... the war in Iraq and Afghanistan continues, the Bush tax cuts were extended, Obama accepted the Expansionary austerity theory, constantly is trying to work with Republicans, his second stimulus is 60% tax cuts... If you think Obama is anything but a centrist than I believe it is your political savvy that is under question - not mine.
Obama would have raised taxes if he could. He's trying to do that now. Obama trying to work with Republicans????? LOL. He locked them out of the rooms during the health care debate. He signed the bill without ONE republican vote. Yes, I question your political savy.

the PPACA was loaded with provisions from the GOP. if you don't think he's been trying to work with the GOP, that is your perception problem and yours alone.

obama has lowered my taxes, and my pa-in-law, who is in one of the top brackets, could care less if we return to clinton era tax levels. when i asked him directly about it, he replied tha you would have to be insane to turn down an extra $100k because you'd be taxed an extra $3k on it, which is true. he would take that 'any day of the week'. he voted for bush in 2004, by the way.

you know who wouldn't take that? ideologues and partisan hacks.

Sure, he wants to raise taxes... By closing loopholes to corporate tax jets and oil companies and by changing the capital gains rate from 15%, which is much lower than what most people pay...

And yeah, he is trying to work with Republicans: During the debt ceiling debate his grand bargain package was 14% revenue increases.. Reagan(33%), Bush 1(25%) and Clinton(20%) all signed deficit reduction deals with more revenue increases than the one Obama proposed... Beohner was even willing to take the deal - but TEA PARTY Republicans wouldn't take it and were willing to harm the economy to prevent even the most modest revenue increases. Again, I point to the fact that Obama extended the Bush tax cuts in their entirety against his own parties wishes and he has built a stimulus bill that is 60% tax cuts in an attempt to get some Republicans on board. Deprave said it in this same thread didn't he? That "of course Obama is a centrist" and that most politicians are "centrist authoritarian".. He hates Obama ayet still realizes that Obama is indeed a centrist. Are you sure you wanna sit here and call Obama a socialist kenyan muslim? It really only makes you look bad imo... Take that shit to a Tea Party rally, but not here...

Do you even remember the Healthcare debate? Republicans weren't interested in compromising either, they didn't want to improve the bill - they were fundamentely against it and fought to the bitter end to stop it... It was a yearlong partisan battle that ultimately ended in the most conservative form of universal healthcare among advanced nations... You know why? Because Obama did try to get republican votes; He even dropped the public option from the plan in the hope that it would be more likely to pass and it still didn't garner any Republican votes...

LOL!

That is true. Lower tax rates for the highest incomes is what screwed the economy up in the first place. My business used to pull in close to 600k a year under the Clinton tax rate, and yes, it totally sucked having to write out 50k checks to the govt every 3 months but when you are paying that much taxes you spend and invest. I would buy more advertising, computers, hire more people, buy a bigger house to write off the interest, etc. The last thing you want to do is be there at the end of the year hoarding the cash just to pay a hefty tax bill, and the lower the tax rate the more people will do that which slows the economy.

Can't forget that part... Really exposes the hypocrisy of the Republican party imo; I wonder if Obama is saving that one for later, seems like it will be an effective illustration of said hypocisy.

america is often known as a bully.

the people here advocating war, just come off as "people that like to kill for stuff" or at best "dangerously afraid people"

..

looking at iraq, looking at afghanistan, looking at lybia and then looking at america..

well its a joke, cant even seriously expect anyone to even seriously suggest that these places might be a threat to america lool.

sure fundamental muslims are a bunch of nutcases you wouldnt want to live with, but they are also a primitive joke ;)

even if all the muslim countries united, they´d be crushed in a week.

what do they have? sure shitload of cash, (some of them, the emirs who are all heavily dependant on westerners and spend most of their time there or in isolated castles)

but the rest are just basically dark age people, even if they got their hands on cash, what are they gonna buy? old russian ak´s?

..

lessee, the only one that ever managed to hurt the u.s, was a man trained by the cia! lool.

saddam was kinda brought to power by the us..he was their ally for years.. (till he started fucking with a rather important oil place..)

sorta too the talibans, till they went "nuts" and burned the opium fields and closed off the country (the only place a pipeline can be built to reach certain oilfields..)

yeah, its a bit of a joke to any outsider with no interests.

protecting the free world lol..

yup, bombing primitive dark age people , back to the stone ages, is accomplishing that.

well, its kinda understandable, america been living in fear so long (nukes for one.)

that many just dont understand anything else.

all their past is just violence, glorifying violence and war.

addicted to being a hero..

but too afraid to face any real threat (might lose everything)

not that there really are any, russia was never about to invade or bomb america, the idea was a joke..

and would have devastated the world, genuine psychopaths, get rarely into office, if ever (highly doubtful that even hitler wouldave bombed the world to ash)

and this running around , stamping on bugs (that incidentally have lots of valuables)

is just shameful, specially with what americans actually boast about being.

Not one Republican vote. You're a liar.
It's very common in politics to contribute an amendment or earmark to a bill and still vote against it... Ron Paul, for example, always votes against spending bills but that has never stopped him from directing money to his district via amendments to those bills. It's a neat little politicians trick so they can get something they want and still use the overall bill against their political opponents by voting no.

Another REpubli-troll talking point. A republican Congress was what was responsible for Clintons Balanced budget

Facts are not one Republican voted for it and Al Gore had to cast the tie breaking vote to get the Budget passed
