Slow Stunted Growth

Hi

I having serious problems, i've been vegging 40 plants for about 6 weeks. The growth is very slow and stunted, only about a couple of inches a week.

Week 1: Started with 40 White Rhino cutting in small rockwool.
Week 2: Potted them in 4 liter pots, the plants were 2-3 inches tall.
Week 3: Repotted them into 10 liter pots & watered them.they were 4-5"
Week 4: I realized that i had been overwatering the plants from the start! They were droopy and growth was very slow, 5-7 inches tall. So i stopped watering until the pots were totaly dry. Started to look better.
Week 5: Growth still stunted and very slow. But looking healthy, 7-9 inches

Does anyone know a way to speed up the growth? Or are the plants perminately stunted?

what type of light are u veg with?? nutes??

I doubt it Sounds like you got it if they still look healthy and show no sign of deficency i think your good, could also have been some slight shock due to the transplants. It is really hard to say without pics, is your ph right, how do the roots look white and healthy if so sounds like you got it

Ph is comin out of the tap at 7.5, haven't been changing it. i've read that high ph is alright for potted plants. Not sure about the roots, i'll have a look. maybe put some photos on tomorro.

That might be it. the grow rooms up in a atic, it pritty cold here in uk at the mo. It's been goin as low as 60 degrees at night,

If shocked from cold can they recover or stay stunted?

Hmm i don't know. Just had a look at them. i don't think it is the temp, I still think it's the watering problem. It's just take a long time 4 them to recover. ive got some others in the same room, a bit youger. No prob with them. Hopefully it will work out that i can put them all on 12 12 @ the same time

Well some soil is acidic so using a high ph for a while is ok but once your runoff hits between 6.5 and 7.0 stop using that and use something in that range from now on. also let your tap water sit out for 24 to 48 hours before use. This will let some of the chlorine evaporate out high ph can cause all kinds of problems with nute lock out and buildup.

This is the prob i'm having. its not of my plants, its a pic i found on the web. My camera phone has just broken. i have early stages of this. do u know wot it is? And wot is the best way to treat it?

Alright easy i think this is prob a ph prob causing nutrient lockout if the bottom of plant is green and healthy and top is jacked up, then it is most likely a micro nutrient deficient, first i would flush the plants with 6.5 to 6.8 ph water until runoff is same then once soil dries water again with 1/4 strength nutrient solution also add some epsom salts about 1 tablespoon to a gallon. it looks like a magnesium deficency but with ph problems more than one nute can either build up or be locked out. So i would do a flush and get soils ph correct.

It will be hard not do do anything to the plants after a flush because plants will look a little droopy making you nervous that is where alot of people mess up and start doing to much let soil dry before doing anymore work or tending to them. Maryjane is very forgiving, make sure you ph your water after adding your nutes as well because they will change the ph of the water. Ph is very important for nutrient uptake in your plants once ph is correct all you should have to worry about is when and how much to feed. Dont stick to a schedule for that let the soil tell you when to water.

ph of 7.5 seems alittle high for me, gardensimply.com/ph_effects.shtml learn all you can about ph more people need to understand it it will change the way you grow forever once you learn that a plant will uptake more of some nutes and less of others at differnt ph levels

Man this is a mission. I've just flushed them all once, used about 150 liters of water and the ph is still reading 7.5. I recon it's guna take another 2 flushes. So thats 450 liters of water!!!!!!! It's in an atic and i have to pump all the water into the tolet downstairs. Fuck man!!!! I'm not doing this again.
Let this be a lesson to u all out there! Get your PH right Gezzers!
