this is a quote from al b fuct. seems like a pretty smart guy! i asked him what he thought about feeding herb plants with st8 tap water.

"It's not bad at all. Chlorination as applied in municipal water systems does not hurt plants. I don't know where this idea got started. Chlorination is your friend. It keeps pathogens suppressed while the water is in the reticulation system and also for the first 2-4 days standing in an open tank. Yibbayabba about reverse-osmosis, distilled or other fancy water for cannabis plants is a total (and expensive) wank. Tapwater is fine... unless your taps are connected to a bore water of very poor quality, with high salinity or high mineral salt (esp limestone) content. I've never seen a problem in any hydroponic op caused by municipal water."

yes but a lot of places have hard water problems, mineral deposits and shit.. that can translate into your plant after time but i really dont think most tap water is harmful just check your shower head.. if its got a bunch of hard water on it it then you might wanna let it sit for a day.

hey Lbuds, if you let your tap water "breath" for 24 hours the mineral deposits and shit will still be contained, if im not mistaken. so im referring to just to the chlorine aspect of the tap water and nothing else... thanks for your input! :P

keep on debating ppl.

tap waters ph is around 7.6 - 7.9 ph
Thats too high for growing
It needs to be between 5.6 - 6.5 ph
to do that just add a few drops of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)!! :blsmoke:

I think it really depends on your location. Water sources/purifying techniques are different from place to place. Some places may have higher concentrations of anything than others so it's kinda hard to say whether it be ok or not. This is just an assumption i have, so correct me if im wrong.!
