Uh Oh! Notice three of the smallest flies ever in my tent.

So I was tending my plants tonight. Watering and checking for sex on my White Widow grown from seeds. After watering and looking for balls and pistil I noticed three
tiny and I mean practically microscopic pure white flies flying around and landing on leaves. I killed those three but I assume if there are three they are breeding. About half the plants have had the sex determined (been on 12/12 for 9 days) but it's not like there are buds yet.

A cursory search reveals that there is indeed a pest called White Flies that do attack MJ, but I can't find a solution. Looks like mites are the main concern for most folks.

How bad are these white flies and what should I do. This is in a well sealed negative pressure having Secret Jardin II 120 4x4x8 tent. I'm not sure how to even get to the underside of my leaves and the entire 4x4 is weed canopy now.

Sigh.

Figures. Looks like 9 out of my 10 seeds are probably female. Now I gotta spray them with a bunch of shit.

I did see one thread that said put a 1/8" of worm castings on the top of all the soil (coco in this case) and that it makes the leaves taste like sour milk to them.

Another solution I saw was a solution of 50% rubbing alcohol and 50% water?

Aphids, white flies, or perhaps thrips m8. I recently started using a product with Spinosad for pest control. Safe to use up to about a week from harvest. It is organic and not a pesticide. The product is called monterey garden insect spray and it should take out w/e pest problem you have.

You'll want to pick up a 1 gallon spray bottle from your local garden center. Mix some of that stuff up with some water... pump up some pressure in the bottle and spray... it has a little arm so you can reach the other side of your tent. Spray them twice from under and over... should take care of it.

Thanks! Going to try Spinosad. Hopefully I can find it locally as I don't want to wait a week for it to come in the mail. They'll probably get out of control in that time.

Bro you dont ever have to spray anything on your plants...a no pest strip by hot shots will kill em all in a day just sitting on the floor and it will NOT EVER TOUCH THE PLANT I BEEN USING EM FOR YEARS WITH AWSOME.RESULTS

Hot Shots Pest Strips are essentially poison. And in order for them to work properly the fumes need to accumulate in the atmosphere. In a tent or garden which has a very quick air exchange Hot Shots is basically useless. The fumes it puts out are immediately removed by the air exchange. Which is not all that bad because it is POISON.

Spinosad is cheap, effective, non-toxic, organic, won't harm humans, pets, or plants. It is the best thing on the market and is used on organic crops of all types around the world.

Probably won't work for me then since I have a big ass 550 cfm inline fan sucking air out. Negative pressure is strong, turns my 4x4 tent into a 3x3 tent. Going to war with flies!!!

I had a small white fly and mite issue, and tried the home remedy of alcohol and water. 2 treatments and my room and plants were clean.

I wouldn't steer you wrong m8. Get a spinosad product and get rid of the problem. It may take two separate applications.. 1 today..another 3 days from now.. but it will work. I just dealt with thrips again this summer and spinosad is what took care of it. I have used another product called Azamax in the past but it's expensive and doesn't do what spinosad does. GL to you m8 :)

Of course I went to every Home Depot, Lowes, and Garden Center I could find. The two things I was looking for I couldn't find. Spinosad and Azamax, gonna have to order them from Greners. I can't let it go a week while I wait for it to ship or they'll be out of control. I was doing a lot of reading and apparently we have a massive problem with White Flies in South Florida. This is what I ended up with for now:

Spectracide Malathion is obviously Malathion, no idea what it is or how toxic it is. Green Light Free Tree and Vegetable Spray is 0.25% Pytherins and 70% Hydrophobic Neem Oil. Ortho Flower, Fruit and Vegetable insect killer which is made of: 000.6% Acetamiprid, never heard of it. Then I got a bottle of Ortho Elementals Insecticidal Soap which is 1% Potassium Salts of Fatty Acids. Would you use any of these? I'm not gonna use the Jif or Hygrozyme for this! ;)

ive herd neem oil used as a foiliar can be a good for prevention, also seaweed extract but for prevention also, one way to get rid of pest that are dependant on the soil is to keep our soil covered inbetween waterings, some bugs need the soil so take it away from them they will die off or fly off, doest work for all cases though, hope u sort it m8!
