Kern County, CA to Ban Dispensaries, Outdoor growing...

So my humble South Central California city of Bakersfield is probably the most Right Wing city/county in California, its hot, miserable, the air is THE WORST in the nation and the only major things to do here is getting drunk and/or high, or going on vacation to some where else =)

Anyways, there has been an off again / on again fight against medical marijuana and the city outlawed dispensaries some time ago within city limits. So as of now, some 20 plus dispensaries, not including delivery services and co-ops, have been thriving within parts of the county. A lot of them sell millions of dollars of pot which in turn gives millions in tax revenue to the local area and hundreds of jobs.

Now the county counsel has deemed dispensaries, and growing outdoors, a "public nuisance" so they are voting on Aug 2nd whether or not to ban everything.
What does that mean? only time will tell, but it probably means; less tax revenue, lost jobs, more black market activities to fill the need of people who are gonna get it one way or another, and turning normal legally growing citizens into criminals.

Hahaha, no, the ironic thing is my Grandpa created that sign. They have a new one that says something along the lines of "Bakersfield; Life as it should be" laughable...

No kidding? That's awesome.

When I was a little kid, my family used to drive from Sacramento down to Saugus every summer to visit my grandparents, and I'll always remember that sign. Probably because, even as a little boy, the thought of Staying and Playing in Bakersfield struck me as funny.

Oh, and sorry for taking your thread off-topic.

Hahaha, I think its ironic too, but aren't most signs you see when entering a town? Yea he was the director for the board of trade & "tourism" for like 30+ years, the coolest things he got to Bako was Frito Lay, Dryers and the movie Psycho =)
But he, like most of the people that run Bakersfield, was a super conservative Republican and against anything not part of "their agenda" like pot and those damn hippies that smoke it!

Today it begins again. They are seeing people and voting at 2pm today. Unfortunately I am at work but I have put my support out there as far as emailing and calling the BOS members. Hopefully today doesn't let the patients down.

So it looks like they did it with help of a strongly worded memo from the federal government basically saying they cant regulate MMJ because its a Schedule 1 narctic which means its the worst thing ever! And if you grow or smoke it you deserve to be thrown in federal pound you in the ass prison!
They are limiting out door grows to 12 plants, which Im not entirely against, there is a ton of stupid ass beaners growing thousands of plants all over the vally, thats just ridiculous and greedy.
This country seriously needs to get its head out of its ass, prohibition stops no one from producing or consuming things, all it does it make the price go up which in turn attracts criminals, good job morons!

so it did go through =/
kinda shitty but you can still go to the "CITY" of bakersfield and get your meds...THATS WHAT FUCKING GRINDS MY GEARS

well the hydro shops might get more business

it isnt only beans
you gots to include crackers and olives

people are tapping into city power to cut bills
and people have 600 plants in their back yard....these peeps want to be pot farming millionaires!!!!!!!!!

...12 plants is more then enough to last you through out the yr
if you arent getting the weight you need for your meds then you obviously do not know what you are doing...so in turn let someone that knows how to pull weight grow for you

I would like to know what shops are inside city limits? The decision was outrageous but hopefully the legal team will take care of it with our support.

Also, racism doesn't need to be a part of the issue. It's Youngblood who ruined it for everybody. If it was large grows then why the ban on legally operating collectives instead of large outdoor grows only? I won't sit down and take it, hope nobody else does either.

In the meantime, Bezy, does your Hydro shop have any specials/bundles going on right now on lights?

Yea come on in and I'll get you a good deal, we match or beat any price in town, I can give you a better idea of what we can do once I know what your situation is. Our air cooled 1,000 watt package is under $300 out the door to give you a good idea of the prices we have.

That's not bad at all. I am just looking to start a small stealth grow of about 2-4 plants at a time. Don't want to go anything over a 400w HPS if I don't need to.
