there is another strain called grass o matic. As far as me harvesting it looks like they still need more time. I took the scope down today to look at them and theres only a few milky trichomes. Im thinking another week which will total 10 weeks from seed. the package says 8 weeks but id rather wait and have great smoke then cut when the package says and have garbage.

I grew 2 green-o-matics out on my deck last summer. Probably got about an ounce in a half, but the fan leaves were half eatin by a caterpillar, until I figured what was going on. Nevertheless, it turned out to be great smoke! Only down side I see might be the yield, I think some of the newer autos might double that pretty easily.

lol they are fairly well reviewed as well. If you have a grow journal feel free to link it in here i'd like to watch to see if it's a strain that could benefit me. Thanks

My G-O-M are sposed to be done roughly on the 20th but when I loupe them I see no milky trich's
I'd post pics but dont want to hijack your thread..lol

If I were to harvest when not fully ripe the effect is more of a cerebral "party" high instead of couchlock body high right..?

being that GOM is a sativa indica split I would imagine you are right about harvesting early giving you a more sativa high being cerebral. I had a sample nug off one of the ones I cut early and it was purely a sativa high. very uplifting and energetic. Im still going to let the others go longer to fully mature into their intended form. and lowrydergrow cant wait to see pics and follow you on yur adventure lol.

Hey guys, the first one that I pulled too early was done drying today so i clipped it up
and weighed it in for its dry weight. At the start I guessed about 2 ounces but drying process is a bitch lol. Anyways I ended up with 1 ounce and 3 grams but I had pulled an additional 3 grams yesterday to sample. The smoke was very cerebral being that I pulled it early but yet still had a good potency. The 2nd plant that was pulled is not yet dry enough for a weigh-in. That will have to wait for tommorrow. The other 5 plants that have not been pulled as of yet have trichomes that are very milky but only the occasional amber one so it looks like harvest for them will be tommorrow as well. I will keep everyone posted from here on out. Wouldn't mind a little rep if you have followed my thread the whole way through and appreciate the info. Thanks guys.

Nice! I'm sure the tiny yield on the first plant is because almost all cannabis swells up a LOT during the last week or so of flower.
And that's not even tiny, most autoflowers I hear of get an ounce or less.
The Jackson 5 will probably get closer to that 2oz yield you want.

Looks like your tuesday estimate was correct, nice eye Deltsy.
Don't forget that even more moisture/chlorophyll will come out during the curing phase, so the OFFICIAL dry weight report won't be for another couple weeks.
If you are having struggle curing, there is lot's of help on the forum, including SimonD's guide to a perfect cure.
Check them as soon as lights come on tomorrow. I hear this is peak THC count, and I'm pretty sure plants exude THC to protect them from the sun or something like that.
Basically harvest during 'their' morning.

Thanks for the great tips and yea ive got all my mason jars for curing. I actually have a dry pantry which is perfect because the door seals because its a humidor for my cigars normally but its perfect because I can control humidity. and Cid thanks for the rep and ill post pics as soon as I start my harvest. The light turns on at 5pm so thats their morning and im going to listen to the advice ive gotten and harvest then but i work afternoons which means wednsday at 5 is offically harvest time. I will try to have pics posted that night. Thanks for the support folks.

Wednesday 5am or 5pm?
Is it the beginning of lights on?
Why not tuesday? You are checking trichomes still right?
Gotta' make sure you get that perfect.
Remember they will keep developing during the Dry/Cure phase.
Have they been packing on major weight during the last several days?

Those pics are of the one plant I harvested today because the trichome colors were perfect. The main cola on it is also huge lol. Anyways thought you guys would appreciate
being kept up to date. +rep if you like what you see folks. Also day 3 of curing is complete on the previous 2 plants harvested and the weights are in at the first plant being
1 ounce and 3 grams and the second plant at 1 ounce 17 grams. Heres hoping the other 5 will have more but im impressed so far with yields.
