Awesome konagirl- I'm all caught up now and look forward to watching thigs evolve here with you and your grow... One thing you could try, in my opinion- is add a little silica to your ferts- it's basically just a type of liquid sand, but it helps fortify the cells walls against heat and light stress- and also against bugs like those dreaded spider mites. The silica in the plants will literally grind down the mouths of the bugs and they will be somewhat deterred, not to mention the plants will be stronger and not as likely to bend over when your big fat budz weigh them down... :)
I will also recommend reading the threads Homebrewer puts on. They are really informative, and he has lots of pics to back up his findings. He mainly grows hydro, but he also has an extremely simple, yet very good resulting soil grow regimen to give u some ideas. He is definitey a good guy to learn some things from, and his threads were actually the reason I joined RIU... Anyway, he has a simple inert soil mix and adds only a couple dynagrow products (which are also cheap) and well, the pics will speak for themselves...

Hey -you're kinda like the girl nextdoor, but in this case "the girl from the neighboring island" lol... :D

yea i was thinking silica and calcium carbonate would do this grow some magic. the silica (as said) will help the plants when it somes to heat and stress, and the calcium carbonate will allow for total absorbtion of nutrients and also help neutralize the PH to 6.5~. both are PH neutral, so they can be used to offset PH (neutral being PH 7).

but all the ferts your using are good stuffs. i would try and find a ready made addative with silica and calcium carbonate to realy kick up the performance :)

Hahaha I can be such a procrastinator lol now that the garden is all transplanted and stuff I will start the tent, I was thinking having my light would be my motivation, I guess just trying to keep more bugs out will be hehehehe!!!!!!

hate bugs, LOVE spiders :D

i try and harbor spiders in my grow, they seem to like the warm enviroment and they destroy bugs. trap some bugs in a container that a spider can enter, leave it in a place where non-venomous spiders live and the spiders will eat the bugs and get trapped. you can then take them to your grow room/tent and release them. i like the garden orb weaver spiders.... unlike the large orb weavers they dont bite you.

Even though it's good advice- I'll bet ya a pound of dank she won't be having any spiders on purpose.. lol No Charlotte's web...

yea if i was in Hawaii i wouldn't try and get spiders either... never know what might happen :spew:

and then theres the fact that everyone has their phobia's, and who can really be blamed for that? :)

Lol I am not afraid of spiders, but don't really want any bugs or crawling creatures in my growing area lol hahaha ya preferably :)

I totally understand that too!! hehehe I hate cock-a-roaches hehehe don't mind to much of anything else....they just disgust me ew....

God I remember when I would go to Hawaii every summer.. they have some of the biggest ROACHES EVER.. like HUGE.. scary looking things.. I used to bug bomb my suitcases when I came home.. in fear one would make to back to my house... The coolest thing was the gecko's though.. watching them just crawl around the ceilings sitting by lights and lamps for heat and prob because the light attracts insects for them to eat.. cool looking lizards :) Supposed to be good luck as well.. if I remember right ?

Oh really that's not good, well I have not seen them yet hahaha....I know they were aweful in Fl :( I like lizards so thats cool hahaha

in the neighborhood cupl miles down the road here they have crack-a-dactilles. walkn around with one shoe tryin to lick their ear lobes. totally gross.lmao!whats up kona!lol

Ya I think the roaches just do well out there .. because of the humidty and warm temps .. just a guess though.. im sure if you dont see em .. you wont have em.. those godzilla roaches cant be missed lol
