I got it as a freebie too and couldn't find shit about it besides the fact that it is 60% sativa. No info out there as far as budding times, but i'm gonna assume it may be 10-12 weeks.

This is bred from the original Soma NYCD so it will share a LOT of the characteristics of the original diesel. I got some other interesting information on this strain while is was doing some research in to THC/CBD content ratios. It turns out that this particular strain has a 1:1 ratio of THC/CBD at about 8%. This was the only strain that I could find on my travels that could make that claim. I am not a huge fan of it personally as I much prefer pure Sativas, but when i had an operation on my knee I needed some real sleep inducing meds and this did the trick real well.
If you need more info on it you can get quite a bit from the dinafem website, but having never grown it myself i cant help on grow tips.

i've grown out a few dinafem freebies myself. very good experiences all around. i have mutiple freebies of nearly all their stuff.

critical jack info i keep finding is inspiring me to pop that over any of the 75 packs of gear i keep around.

if you want to know the parents why look anywhere but the source of the seeds?

as fas as lineage dinafem notes : http://dinafem-seeds.biz/semillas-dinafem/diesel.html

i speak read and write perfect spanish but you guys can translate via google ...or their website via a drop down for sure.

I got this as a freebie also and Have it going right now. It's on week 2 with two big leaves and two baby leaves. I think it's doing pretty well but I'm not sure.
Glad to hear it's an easy grow tho since this is my first time growing anything. lol I'm going to have to find something for the odor tho. I'm thinkin ONA gel.

I am in the same boat as many of you guys. I too recently purchased seeds and got Dinafem Diesel as a freebie. I'm not even sure if the seed is feminized or not. It just came in a plastic baggie labeled "Dinafem Diesel". So, I'm guessing it is not feminized, because if it was I'm guessing it would be labeled as so. As far as the quality of Dinafem they are one of the better (native) seed companies in Spain, that's for sure. I found a video where the Attitude seedbank goes behind the scene at one of Dinafems grow facilities and at 1:36 in the video they show what the "Diesel" they are cultivating looks like. I am germinating my freebie right now and stubled upon this thread and thought I would jump into the conversation. In the video the announcer mentions that the Diesel is known for its "American roots" so possibly it is some New York City Diesel or something along those lines. However, Diesel is kind of a regional slang word in the US for extremely potent and top grade cannabis so who knows what the real "Diesel" strain is. They also show the White Widow strain which I got as a freebie as well with my order from the Attitude... White Widow I believe was invented by Mr. Nice and Shantibaba and originally called Black Widow back in 1994 but I could be wrong... It has been a long time Anyway, here is the video I was talking about where they show the DINAFEM DIESEL growing.

No... Arjan/Greenhouse Seeds is definitely the original breeder of the first and original White Widow.. Then Mr. Nice and a bunch of other companies copied his work... I'm pretty sure...... jk... Just wanted to find fuck a few people for a sec :D... Nah, Shanti was the original, and it WAS White Widow, but he changed it to Black Widow since he changed companies....

Oh.... And about the Diesel...... Wow.... I germinated it like 2 months ago, but that batch of plants i was growing with that coco at the time was super acidic, so they all pretty much went into shock for a while, and stopped growing.... I let them grow a little more, then I cloned the tops of each plant... (the green/healthy part, as the bottom was all woody, and wasnt gonna grow too good or fast enough.... i got 2 clones, and they both rooted about the same time, and they are both about 6 inches tall right now, and BOY are they stinkers right now in veg..... Never had a stronger smelling veg plant, and it is really beautiful vegging plant also, as the leaves have a unique shape compared to most others..... Now That I read that from the dinafem website, I am even more excited to grow it out, and I am keeping it as a mother plant for sure....... A Pretty much a NYCD with Super Skunk, and Northern Lights?.... No wonder they look so kickass in the attitude pics.... and that explains the price.... I knew dinafem was more than just a company copying strains from other top breeders..... Even if they're using a couple, why not???... And to tell you the truth, all their seeds I have grown out have been super nice..... Lets see how the smoke is...

I wonder what the White Widow genetics are, cuz they definitely look like no other White Widow I have ever seen before.... Looks tasty..... I wanna cross one of these 2 with a flavorful TGA or maybe a Strawberry Cough

Just stumbled across this thread I grew out my freebie diesel seed and im almost at 9 weeks of flowering im going to let mine go 10 with the last couple days in the dark.

Heres some pics this plant is covered in huge tall trics more than my white widow plant. Very light light green buds with the tops looking like a ball. Strong lemon tangerine smell and super stinky. Cant wait to try this looking forward to it the most right now :joint:

Hey OP,

I read this thread when I was still waiting for my freebie in the mail. I will have this to say, the Dinafem Diesel has really suprised me in how vigorously it grows. I have a fourteen site dwc/bubbler and the two diesels, (albeit they are about a week ahead of everthing else) have taken the F**** over my space. I've found that scrogging and lst'ing this strain does wonders, because it has a propensity to branch out A LOT! The stretch is not bad though, which is it's saving grace with all that branching.

Just threw her 'em into 12/12, so we will see what's up soon.

I also got it as a freebie. I harvested and trimmed it this past w/e. Good grower. Nice big main cola. Didn't stretch a lot. I won't be smoking it for about a month.
