Smoke Review: Subcool/TGA Jack The Ripper

Heritage: Jack's Cleaner x Space Queen (Seedfinder)

Flowered: 70 days

Method: Aero/DWC (Double Stacks)

Nutrients: Cutting Edge Solutions

Yield: ~55 grams

Bag appeal: 10 of 10. So frosty, so shapely, makes any stoner's mouth water on sight.

Smell: Chemical cleaner, sharp, new leather, sweet.

Dry Toke: Chemical cold, almost like menthol

Smoke: Tastes like minty wood, sweet, yet sharp. While smooth on inhale, it's easy to take too big of a hit, making for a cough filled exhale.

The High: Bam! Like a smack to the face with big fat bag of happy and a rinsing of the third eye, this strain delivers a potent, refreshing, Sativa high that can literally over power. The smoke remains potent and delivers relief day and night. The only other strain I have which is as effective would be Alpha Diesel. While not a grand yielder, this is definitely a keeper for anyone's garden. One non-medicinal smoker described the high as almost too strong.

I heard jacks cleaner wasn't that great however I've been interested in space queen for a while. TGA subcool has another tasty treat called Agent Orange.

The only other TGA strain I've sampled, Pandora's Box, was quite nice. I've been meaning to try Agent Orange for some time.

perfect report i would advise you to search alittle more through the JTR gene set as becuase i got 2 solid keepers out of this girl one refered to as Soylent green so strong lemon pine when your trim alot by hand it starts to burn the nose the growth was a HEAVY main cola and sturdy long colad but not over populated side branches


the other is refered to lemango which has a base pallet of lemon but the essential mango smell is some how incorperated really a unique smelling tasting plant not as strong as soylent green but a easier toke on beginners as i find if i give some of the soylent green to my buddies that smoke maybe once a week they tend to get REALLY paranoid and cant remember much of what they say lol but as for structure this i found to be the tallest expression of jtr more budsites than the soylent green but they tend to be smaller buds this plant if untopped and vegged under good lighting will branch and bush out extremely well i find with jtr a toping will slow the plant growth down not exactly bad for the plant just recovers slower than most

Mango might be in there somewhere, but I don't really get lemon from mine. My OG18 and LA Confidential have that lemon piney smell, but my single bean JTR has delivered me a very chemical cleaner, minty scent and taste pheno.

looks closer to structure to my Soylent green compare the 2 but my reason for saying lemon is that its more like lemon pine cleaner so i can see where you get the chemical cleaner smell but i grew mine via Super Soil so lol

She is a lovely strain, I plan to someday buy a 10 pack and do some pheno searching. Right now I'm busy doing some pheno searches of some interesting crosses; King's Kush x GDP, WhiteBerry x LA Woman, White Widow x Sleestack, Pandora's Box x BlueCheese, and a few others my stoned brain can't recall ATM

I am one of those people who can not handle the confusion and paranoia I get from Jack The Ripper or anything with Jacks Cleaner in it. I am finding that I am rare. I love everything that TGA Subcool produces that does NOT have Jack Cleaner in it. THAT Being said, I grew out an agent orange and it was hands down the most beatiful, orange/tangerine smelling and tasteing plant I've ever grown. The High however was WAAAY too psychadelic for me. Very colorful and made me very very paranoid, it is a very very trippy strain. I would say its a very Magical and SHamanistic high that goes into an intense mental kalidescope followed 2 hours later by a comfortable relaxation like you just dunked your head in icewater then let it sit in the sun to warm back up while still being cold. IF you like JTR high, you will LOVE the Agent Orange high despite the fact that it was waaay too trippy for me (just as my JTR was last year).

Here are some pics of my one Agent Orange seed I did begining of this year. I just finished it yesterday. Beautiful plant but it scares me how strong it is. I wont grow it again because its way too strong for my needs but if you are into that then by all means its beautiful and vigorous.

I turned most of this into cookies which I let go bad because I just could not handle how strong they were.

By the way this was ONE seed I grew that was female. It also was vegged indoor then flowered outdoor in Hawaii where temps never got below 65 at night. It was also from a pack of TGA Subcool seeds and not a bred phenotype of any kind. I was so impressed with this strain I only wish I enjoyed the high more. The high however was great when I put only like 25% to 50% of the bowl with ground AO. Any more than that and I had to turn off my phone for an hour or two.

i did one JTR last year and it was great - i think that smell and taste is very much like an herb spiced food of some kind.. super savory.. good producer.. The Third Dimension was similar and tasty too!

im gonna cross my TGA Pandora's box, Vortex and Jilly bean males with my freebie Northern lights to have a nice indoor plant, that wont reek like tga's normally do. and i cross the males with my pineapple express auto from barneys. should get many pheno's i can enjoy.

I am currently flowering two JTRs...one just started, the other is nearly done. The older one smells fantastic...like sweet lemon and carrot jam...at the moment its also the most resinous plant in my growroom...fanleaves have trichs, and sugar leaves look white. Looks like it will be a fantastic smoke! I am planning on using JTR in a breeding project to create the tastiest, most psychedelic sativa possible...
