if he or someone that grows veggies well can tell me whats wrong with my watermelon plant, id be eternally grateful. the new foliage is all wrinkly and weird looking, some sort of nute deficiency? i dont know how to spot problems on watermelons, barely can on weed plants.

let me start by saying thank you for being polite, i didnt want to sound rude just calling to you lol. i did assume you were some sort of an expert haha. from your threads i just thought youd be the one to help me.

it started that id say 4 days ago, ive been giving it distilled water, or tap water sinse the start. its in the ground, in a hole 2 ft deep,1 ft wide, 2 ft long. nothing new, i just let it hang out and not get too dry, it dose nooot like that. gets all wilty, so i keep it moist and it seemed happy till this started.

no prob man, im not one of those rude ass RIU members. no expert but like i said i know a fair bit.

well it seems like every thing should be fine with what your doing. thats odd it started doing it though you didn't change any thing.

it is just the new growth correct?
are they dying off or slowing growth at all? if not then i would really not worry to much about it, if it grows normal and isnt dying then it should be good

yeah, just the new stuff, its growing like that. i guess i wont worry too much because its not looking like its dying or anything tragic, so ill just keep an eye on it. i dont think itll get any worse. im just totaly confused as to what casued this. thanks for the advice.

Glad you posted this I have a yellow watermelon plant in a 7G outside. It is getting the somewhat mutated new growth as well.
Maybe this is something common to watermelons....? Anyone else?
All the Best!

Sorry for interrupting, but how easy would it be for a new grower to start growing watermelons, and is it to late to start them? Purely curious because I am starting my first garden this year. :) And watermelons are delicious.

Peace & Pot Errbody <3

doing pretty good at the moment, seems like the newest growth isnt doing it any more.... weird. caught a catirpillar in the act of munching couple nights ago, so i sprayed some neem all over the area. got a few little yellow flowers inbetween nodes too...... thanks for the interest/advice. hows your garden doing? :)

It's in a MG Organic soil with my amendments...Happy Frog dry Tomato & Veg food and Myco.....
It's beginning to take off finally! All the Best!
well, i think it might have something to do with MG organic. because i use that partly as well, along with FF peace of mind some vermiculite/perlite. and thats the only thing that links them, besides both being watermelons.... maybe?
