too much water can kill them remember that i usully water mine every 2 days or so depending how fast the water evaporates i am using a 400 watt mh so its pretty warm under it u need to water once the soil goes almost all the way dry roots tend to get lazyu wanna starve them a bit so they stretch and search for waterhope this helps.

i'd like to hear opinions on this as well. some people say keep them moist all the time, some people say it's best to let them dry out between watering to encourage the roots to grow. which is right?

when mine were seedling......just gave it one good watering and left the top to become completly dry before hitting it again with another water....and yes overwatering kills.....soil needs to be moist not all flooded ...........:joint:

My seedlings are in 3 inch rockwool cubes....Two inches, Under six 2' T5 HO flouros...150 watts total...I saturate them once a day until water poors out from bottom of cubes...24 hours later the cubes are dry....I have a fan blowing on them so I think thats why they dry out so quickly

i water mine once every day or two.
each seedling gets about 50 or 100 mls of water per watering - not very much.

My next purchase is definately gonna be a spray head or i will just try to get one off of some windex or something and clean it lol, but i heard that misting is a pretty good thing to do, you can just do that when the tops are dry and it doesnt really mess up your watering schedule.

yeah i thought about using an empty Windex spray bottle - but i decided not to, because i couldn't be sure that all the chemicals were cleaned out.

The last thing i want to do is spray Windex residue on my plants ;-)
