K, fellas, here is the idea,, down here in the south,, no good seeds and being my first time- im just going to plant the reggie seeds and see how it goes. already been in papertowel a couple days starting to "breakout" got a nice out of the way spot that I believe will work perfect- should be about 50 yards away from water. No one frequets the area at all- plenty of brush around,,, it will take me about 25 minutes to get to everytime I want to "maintain" - planning oin cleaning the area soon, dropping some potting soil in place (is any type acceptable since it is reggie??) some insecticide around the area- visit it twice a week in able to maintain, such as weeds, cut out bad areas, and water. Does reggie yield more than other "finer grades"?
You all may be wondering why reggie since there are so many great strains out there... reason being is that I'm paranoid since I've never tried to order seeds, and the fear of that not working out.. also anything that I can grab at home depot or lowes as far as helping nutriently. Been reading everyones elses work and am in awe, just a rookie, dont be to hard on me !!!
Yes i realize this is super amatuer- just trying to play it safe!

First off dig a 3x3 hole for each plant. That's 3 feet by 3 feet. Fill the wholes with some good organic potting soil. I believe in theory that I can grow any viable seed to it's maximum potential if I take care of it right. use high quality soil and fertilizers and everything else that goes with maintainance of cannabis plants. Make sure your plants get plenty of sun.

with it being outside i would def keep an eye out for insects even though you are going to use insecticides. Never grown outdoors so i personally can't say anything about the yield. Best of luck.

Thx
K, High Times (yeah its better than going in completely blind) recommends making a circle of insecticide around the "plot" I'm unsure wether putting it on the plant directly is a safe method....maybe in the beginning I suppose and lay off as they become larger is my best guess...

Ayyy marleyofthebob, you got it right with the insecticide its ok to use while your plant is stil vegging but any amount of insecticide is still going to affect your plant if applied directly. As far as the reggie question, its hard to tell how much the plant will yeild until its atleast halfway through the summer hen you can get a good idea of how much free weed you'll be harvesting, oh and it coul turn ou a lot better then the reggie you got it from if you take good care her, I remember I grew a lil mids plant last year but I fertilized it with foxfarm nutrients and it turned out pretty good actually. If you haveanything like deer or rabbits to worry about then I suggest usinng a 4gallon bucket so the rabbits won't naw at the stem and I've heard leaving trails of hair and blood deters deer but realistically the scent drops after a light wind or rain so I just usuallyput sugar cubes on trees way away from my crop cause deer love weed just as much as us lol, the final tip is try not to use anything MiracleGro I made that mistake my first time and ont ever make it again

im doing the same thing this season as well lol. i have 8 strains vegging in my tent now, but there gonna stay inside... maybe some clones will go out tho. but i just wanted the experience of growing outdoors guerrilla style... i have about 75 of larger brown tiger striped mature seeds that im gonna plant. Seeing as how they are all reg bagseed im not gonna invest a lot of money into them. Im hoping to just add some guano and perlite to the soil i decide to plant in. Now here is my delema.. i have the ability to veg probably all of the seeds for a month or so in party cups to give them a head start and even pre sex them to get rid of males... but its going to be a lot more time consuming to bring even say 30 month old plants to a remote location by foot while concealed. So im thinking of just bringing the seeds outside around mid may digging a few 3'3 holes and planting 5 seeds per plot with the assumption ill lose a few from every plot due to being male / acts of nature.
What i really want to know is how successful have you guys been popping seeds into dirt at the beginning of a season and ending up with a harvest at the end? because i really dont want to make 20 trips just to get stuff planted.

btw a great way to keep animals away from ur crop is urine. ive heard the dog shit idea as well... i dont doubt it works but a water bottle full of piss seems cleaner and easier than anything full of dogshit. I know firsthand coyote urine works to repel deer and rabbits so id assume human urine would work just as well... just get a bottle full and bring it to ur location, make sure its sturdy (not gonna fall over) and then take the cap off.
Ive been thinking about bringing plastic baggies and bamboo steaks with me to make little mini green houses above where i plant the seedlings... this will hopefully keep any potential frosts off them early in the season, i can also spray the bags with urine... ive never grown weed outside but i can relate to how big of a pain in the ass it is to have rabbits out early in the season eating all the new vegetative growth off whats sprouting.
Also make sure u plant near a water source. a gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds and in the middle of the summer your developing plants will each require a gallon of water 2-3 times a week when its not raining. you dont want to be carrying water around all the time, its heavy and you'll attract attention to ur area.

Dude I understand what you are going through. If you want to go in and go hard then order some female seeds from Attitude Seed Bank. Use a prepaid credit card with a fake name if you are paranoid. If not then just work with what you have. Last year I grew some Reggie and got a few pounds. Here is my old "grow journal" It may help you on your venture this year. As for bugs....Better yet let me give you a few outdoor pointers.....https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/349384-inside-outside-bagseed.html

1. Dude, get you a bottle of Neem and a 1-2 gallon sprayer! Spay your plants once every seven days once they are outside throught out your entire grow. This will keep almost everything off your ladies.
2. Get a bottle of SuperThrive and use it the whole time your plants are in veg stage, but stop once they are in flowering stage.
3. Don't believe the hype.....Do not water your plants leaves. It does nothing but cause problems! Put nothing but Neem on your plants. If you want, you can make compost tea and spray that over your ladies leaves, that can put a beneficial biofilm on your plants leaves, but if using Neem oil then there is no point.
4. Don't want to spend alot on ferts? Then make compost tea to feed your ladies. The good thing about compost tea is it is DIRT cheap to make. All you need is a $1.39 bag(40 pounds) of Evergreen Cow Compost from Lowes, a 5 gallon bucket, some water, and a aquarium pump. Go to youtube and search John Evans for more instructions. Last year I used only Cow Compost, water, and Molasses....All my plants were 6-7 feet tall.
5. If it rains.....Go shake the water off your plants or you may get bud rot. Marijuana DOES NOT soak up water through it's leaves. Plants suck up water and nutrients from the SOIL via xylem and pholem(vascular bundle) and evaporates it via gas exchange through the stomata. Again...KEEP Water off your plant leaves!
6. Tell none of your friends what you are doing and don't let anyone know where ya spot is....Not even ya chic.
7. Two weeks before harvest....give ya plants water only. You can check if your plants are ready or not by gettng a cheap portable microscope from Radio Shack. When the trichomes are half amber and half milky.....It's harvest time!
8. Use chicken wire around your plants to keep animals away. The compost tea kept animals away for me. I had no animal issues.
Those are the most important, but you really should research more. Good luck!

Wow throwed ? the man with tha plan!!
Right now I have em bagged in papertowel after that _ I am going to have to keep them inside (no choice) I do have a 2 1/2 ft light bulb to place em under... can I just do that??? I dont know the wattage it is just a reg floresant light... will that work??? How much did you end up yielding per plant??

Good idea aboutthe ordering...
Also at this time of the year if I did order today would I be able to harvest by Thanksgiving???? I would like to do some nice strains instead if I could pull it off!!!!!
Also I see that every1 likes the "ak48" if I ordered a dozen of them I suppose i'd be in good shape.. honestly I'll like to try to yield at least 3-4 lbs...

Papertowel is good for germination. I use a Germination Station myself. I am not sure the light will be enough. I use light strips too. I got mine from Wal Mart. They are "Grow Lights" and they only use 17 Watts each which saves ALOT on your power bill. They also don't give off any heat. These are the lights I have...

This is my indoor seedling/clone room that have the lights installed....

Last year I got around 8-10 pounds from that bag seed grow. Can't remember exactly, but it enabled me to fund this years grow, gave me some good seedless smoke that was awesome....damn near exotic. Sold some of it as mid for 1K per pound. got rid of 6 pound in a week to one person. He wanted more, but I had to keep some for myself.

Yeah, get a GreenDot prepaid credit card from Wal Mart, CVS, or similar place. They will give you the number so you can use the card that same day. Also, when ordering from the tude, get the mug or a t shirt and make sure you click the "leave in breeders pack" options. I don't trust anyone and nor should you. This way you know you are getting the seeds you paid for. As for harvest, it depends on the strain. All my were ready at the same time last year because they all came from the same bag of wood and I started them all at the same time. I harvested in early/mid October, but I did not have any "real" smoke until mid November due to the 2 weeks to dry and the 2 week cure I gave them. Mine were mainly Sativas with a lovely non sleepy high. Had everyone laughing for nothing and gave us the munchies like a bitch. Funny thing is the smoke from the wood was kinda green when you exhaled it. Tasted spicy and lemony. I don't know about AK48, but I have 8 feminized AK-47 from Female Seeds growing right now. I am sure you will get well over 3-4 pounds if you grow outside properly with 10 plants. Since you are doing such a small grow of 12 then you may want to buy FEMINIZED seeds. This way you won't have to worry about getting males....which produce pollen and not bud. Alos, try Green House Seed company. They guanrantee their seeds and replace them if they don't germinate.

The top two are two 4 packs of AK-47...

I am doing a mix of Organic Compost Tea & Fox Farm nutes this year. 1 feed of tea....1 feed of fox farm...repeat. "Someguy" got 10 pounds off 10 plants by using Fox Farm only....

Your expectations can be reached if you take care of your ladies. Keep in mind that in some area kind buds goes for 3K or more a pound. So buying seeds is worth it and so is the work. It's hard in these streets. Good luck with the grow and stay safe.

You can amend the soil that is there, you will have less evaporation that way. Also you will have to carry less soil in. For deer, you can string fishing line around the grow.
