I have burned some plants by spraying with lights on. The water droplets act as a magnifying glass and burns the leaves. I would not recommend it.

I do like you stated right before lights off. Be careful not to spray the bulb I did once on accident it it popped went off and that was that for the bulb.

Nope not safe under hid lighting , the water drops act as magnifying glasses and burn your leafs. It's okay if using CFLS though . You read right .

Thanks for clearing that up guys i just wanted to make sure :)
If you use some sort of spreader/sticker or wetting agent it shouldn't be too much of a problem. These help break up the surface tension of the water thereby preventing droplets from forming. Also, good air circulation will help since the water will dry quicker. I occasionally spray with lights on and don't have any problems. Of course, I move the plants that are directly under the HID to the perimeter. Just be careful and you should be fine. You don't want large droplets sitting on your leaves for too long.;-) Happy growing!:leaf:

IMO, the best time to spray is a couple of hours before lights come on.
1st. turn all fans off
2nd spray plants
3rd turn fans back on
my biggest worry is introducing mold into the room. wet plants and long periods of darnkness concerns me.
