without calling people names (i know its hard for uneducated, arrogant trash) explain to me how its "well under" $100 to produce a pound a month? i run three lights and my electric bill alone is over $300 a month.

i seen your journal, you grow in tents.
I pay .05 cents per kilowatt now.
I used to pay 4.50 for the same kilowatt.
I run basically 1000 watts 24/7 plus the fans and shoplights.
My monthly power bill now is avg at 160.00 per month.
I pull well over a lb per month.
So other than mismanagement, poor skills, wasteful practices or a crack habit, how does it cost over a hundred bucks to produce a lb?

I moved from one part of the country to another.
Blew my fucking mind when I saw my first power bill here.
I swear I thought the .045 per kwh was a misprint on the bill.

very well may have been, I was wondering if you signed up for something. I'm guessing you're a residential account.

I flower 6 plants under 2 600 and I get just over a lb per harvest. All organic. I believe my electric bill went up 70 $ a month and that is including the veg set up ( 4' 8bulb T-5s) When I was using synthetics I had 4 plants under one 600 and harvested 23 oz .

Is that 23 oz after 3 months or do you do that every month?

hic, i wish i was on your side here but a 400 watt setup for $210 bucks will fill about 3 pots and cover about 3x3 ft square. you will pay about 100 in electric for that one light in 3 months and after three months of no nutes you will maybe reap about 3 ounces. thats an ounce a month and three total and it cost you over three hundred bucks, one hundred per ounce and it wont be quality with a 400 watt and no nutes.

bottom line ....if you want free meds, find a caregiver who is new at this and is offering an ounce free per month. be prepared for frustration as the caregiver begins to realize how difficult it is to offer an oz a month for free to each patient.

find me someone who has been giving 5 patients a free oz each, each month for a full year. i need to talk to that guy.

I know what your saying rzza. I do know if the guy keeps the light for a couple grows things should pan out in the way of costs.

I also truley believe that once the grower becomes good at growing he will have the ability to make his few plants shine.

I agree rzza with ya .. but to a point on this one.

If the dude wanted to out on a limb, he could get some cfl's for veg but then we are up to about $330. But increasing productivity greatly

$40 in nutes last me awhile couple grows.

I get it dude, the shit ain't free. I know this. But if you are doing it right, it should just take care of itself. I am far from rich, I've always been poor. I am a caregiver for 3 other patients including myself. The standard rate I give them is that their 1st oz. is free. The second ounce is 250, and if they need more than that it is 400. I don't know what kind of patients you deal with man, but mine are far from rich, and they actually NEED the medicine for various conditions. I am very happy to be able to help them. It is a job, but I kind of look at it like I am helping people and that satisfies me.
i wish i could do volunteer work like you. its pretty rude of you though to suggest that just because you volunteer your time that every caregiver should.

lol. i have a feeling you are talking right out your ass and on your second grow. well over a lb would mean like 20 oz. so with a 1k light, your capable of producing damn near an ounce a day?

But rzza is that not that what a caregiver is supposed do as much as he can? vounteer as much time and love as he can in the individual which needs help?.

I guess what it comes down to rzza is that I would not have the ability to just care-give to just anyone. I must be able to justify my acts on the persons personallity and his medical condition.

I will not grow for just some punks of the street like many of these care-givers do. I must want to care-give for if I did not, I would not be able to volunteer so much.

I am in no means trying to be rude rzza, especially to you. We are all diffrent and that is just how I choose to live my life. As for the others they just do things a little diffrent.

Many care-givers are not trying to be rude either - but the world can make any-one a little cold. " I know this".

i wont call people names but ill stand my ground. as to caregiving, i suppose they chose a bad term because growing cannabis for a patient who doesnt wanna grow themself is far different from changing the diaper of the elderly.

from wiki:
caregiver (US, Canadian usage) are words normally used to refer to unpaid relatives or friends of a disabled individual who help that individual with his or her activities of daily living.

A widely-accepted official definition of a carer/caregiver is "omeone whose life is in some way restricted by the need to be responsible for the care of someone who is mentally ill, mentally handicapped, physically disabled or whose health is impaired by sickness or old age.

from dictionary.com:
1.
a person who cares for someone who is sick or disabled.
2.
an adult who cares for an infant or child.

from our law:
(g) "Primary caregiver" means a person who is at least 21 years old and who has agreed to assist with a patient's medical use of marihuana and who has never been convicted of a felony involving illegal drugs.

these are different things were talking about so .....
But rzza is that not that what a caregiver is supposed do as much as he can? vounteer as much time and love as he can in the individual which needs help?
no. not in this sense.

Rzza,

"my bottom line is 10 a gram. its truely costing my almost that to grow it."

If it costs you $285 per ounce to grow weed - you have serious problems.
If you know what you are doing you can produce top notch product for under $50 per ounce while still paying yourself for time invested.
