so my plants have some wonderful mildew I just cant get rid of..every week comes back strong...

when I harvest these can I just cut the colas off and dunk them in a bucket of h202/water mix to kill the mildew then hang them up to dry?

can the powdery mildew turn into mold?

also my luck i just found some fucking seeds in the stupid plants, what a terrible waste of 3 months

these plants are in there 6th week of flower..should i just cut them or what?

ak47 purple kush g13

or should i let them go a few more weeks?

Powdery mildew is not mold, will not turn into mold. Your bud can still mold if you don't dry it properly. I WOULD NOT recommend dipping the buds in anything, just take this as a lesson learned and consider getting a sulfur burner, that will get rid of the powdery mildew.

Thanks for the mold info, as for the burner I am in a apartment complex and would bring to much attention. im legal but do not want management asking why my apt smells like shit..Im moving in two monthsa so this is my last grow here..

What if I get a giant tub and dunk the plants in it a day before harvest then leave them under the light to dry completely?

the h202 completely wiped out my mildew but it always came back few days later..so i was thinking throughly wash the buds in a tub and then dry themj out

I dunked some lower buds in some h2o2 just for shits and giggles. When it dried it completely bleached the hell out of the buds and made them look like shit from an albino dog that had been eating weeds and white paint. So unless you want people to say "what the fuck is that?, I'm not smoking that shit" every time you pull out your buds, I wouldn't do it.

OR.. you can try this one "hey man, turn out the lights and lets get high" every time you want to smoke.

Dont use H2O2. Spray your buds with a high alkaline pH water mix (above 8.0) and then dry. This is a well known and effective way to salvage buds in late flower/harvest which have been infected with powdery mildew.

Cheers

I noticed the pm is in some of the buds..when i pull the leaves back i see some in there..can i fill a 5 gallon bucket say of ro water and jack the ph up crazy high and dunk the buds while kinda moving them aorund under the wtaer to make sure everything gets cleaned off?

would you then hang them buds to dry still in the flower room under the light for the day until the water is evaporated? then move onto normal drying process?

thanks mna i appreciatte it

lolol at the straight h202 i was just gonna use 1 oz to a quart of h20 lol

mix 1/4 tsp baking soda and 2 or 3 drops of liquid dish soap in a spray bottle, shake well and thoroughly spray infected areas.

Apparently the H2O2 didn't completely wipe it out, not if it came back so fast.;-)

I don't think the tub idea will work, but since you can't/won't burn sulfur .....

Got you on the burner after the move, I just kinda think you're sorta screwed for this grow.

I lost one too, then I got the burner. LOL Having to throw away a whole crop and the wasted time ........

I've use the dunk and soak method, when I've had powder mildew, and it works. Its a lot of work, and prolongs the trimming process big time. But if your like me, and refuse to lose a crop, then you got to do what you got to do.

I cut down a plant, dunk it in water ph 12.0, hang it in front of a wall fan. Let dry for 45 minutes. I do that twice to each plant, then trim. Set up a rotation, so as you're trimming one plant another is hanging for the first time, and one is hanging for the second time. Most of the visible mildew will be gone, still have to trim into the more effected leaves. The key is to change the ph level of the outer leaf/stem/bud, so that it doesn't grow back out. Be careful when soaking, DO NOT thrash it around in the water, don't want to wash off any more res'n then you have to. Also, when I say trim, I mean wet trim to the nug. I leave no leaves and no stems, just the bud, that means you don't hang dry then trim. Yeah I know all the reasons why not to do it this way, normally, but we're trying to save a crop and get something out of it. This does two things. 1. Powder Mildew has less to grow back on, since you got rid of as much of the infected areas as possible. 2. When you cut the leaves and stems off and just have the nugs it drys faster, and takes the moister from the mildew faster.

After you're done triming and drying, sterilize/destroy EVERYTHING!!! And I mean everything. Destroy or trash things that you can't clean. Bleach and Water is your friend. If your grow room is carpeted (nightmare, but I think I saw you say you're in an apartment), squirt highly ph'd water on the carpet. Never go from working with infected plants to non-infected plants. Do not put infected planets in the same room as non-infected plants, you will care spores over. Powder mildew is a fungus and spreads from spores by touch, wind or any means it can. Lower your humidity and up air flow. DO NOT just clean once. I clean 3 times, allow the room to sit and dry each time. Use fans to speed it up.

Good luck man.

Just an FYI to anyone that comes across this thread as I did... If you do dunk which is a risky Technic I would suggest to watch Jorge Cervantes' "powder mildew video" on you tube as I feel he is pretty trustworthy and knows more than just about anyone. He shows how to do it with a harvest but the most important thing as previously stated is mold... You must use fans to dry the water after you soak you also will want to skim the mildew that forms on the top. Sorry no link but search and watch the video.
