Flowering under 1000 watt HPS, What wattage MH would be best for veg?

Finishing up my first grow now, going to build a second room for vegging room. My question being what would be the most efficient wattage for the second MH light? I will be flowering under 1 1000 watt HPS. I'm debating between 400 and 600 watts, but if you have anything to say about T5's id like to hear that too.

The most efficient HID lights are 600W. To maximize the usefullness of your veg area, you could get a digital 600W ballast that runs both MH and HPS.

I love my t5. saves money on electrical, bushes em out great, inexpensive bulbs, take up little space, less heat
Just make sure its a 4 footer with 54 watt bulbs..

Thanks for the info Montag, I've known 600watts are most effective, I just want to make sure it would be the best match for a 1000 watt for flowering as far as space coverage needed & energy usage.

You may not have seen these used in grow before but the 400's will put out 92,000 lumens and have both UV and IR PAR spectrums. They are more expensive initially but if you only have to buy a lamp once every 15 years and they keep 90% of the initial rated lumen output then they end up being much less expensive. i LIKE 4 FOOT 8 BULBS GET ONE YOU CAN TURN 4 ON OR 8 SO IF 8 IS TOO BRIGHT YOU CAN TONE IT DOWN. hOW BIG OF AREA? I GOT MY 8 IN A 4X8 AREA AND LOVE IT. NEVER WASTIN MONEY ON MH AGAIN
Thanks for the responce. +rep

Well the space is unlimited. I'm growing in a 20'x13' room. The only limiting factor is that I'm flowering under the 1 1,000 watt. I just want whatever would be the best balanced match, to not be wasting energy lighting area that isn't used or depriving them of light.

Overall I think I'm leaning toward the T5's. I love the 1000 watt HID's light but for a 2nd light it will be nice to try something different and alot cooler heat wise.
