Best Strains For Bipolar

Hi all
I'm in the middle of applying for a license in Canada and was hoping to find out some strains that seem most beneficial to a depressed-heavy bipolar subscription.

Thanks and happy medicating!

which ever ones you can get a hold of in my experience...

each have benefits during manic and depressive phases, and they are individual specific.

just like the pills, it's all trial and error really until you find your ideal.
then tolerance will rear it's ugly head...so, try try try.

Smell was a fairly good indicator when starting out for me...
the fruity smelly shit always makes me wicked paranoid while the more earthy ones give a nice mellowed out mood
but that's smoking...it's opposite when i cook and eat it.
i don't know why. must be in my head i guess.

stay away from heavy indica if you're depressed. you need a good sativa to inspire and see above the clouds. yet in excess that can make a homie get anxiety and even better, mania. then a wee bit of indy to balance shit out. good luck.

I'd say some shit that just makes you forget what you were so upset about, or the midset you were in

something with a soaring head high, but very laid back body high

Blueberry or blackberry are good strains that have those qualities that I can think off the top of my head..

I also hear, "endless skies" by dr. greenthumb is really good, but I haven't had the chance to grow it or anything... it's on the list for sure but at $200 a pack of seeds I'll have to wait a bit  but if you can have a mother plant to clone from it's not bad :)

Thanks guys. I agree about the Sativa, but I'm finding some of them do make me super-tired, so that's why I'm looking for more other strains to balance it out. My plan is to use it in cooking as well, which I'm looking forward to. I've already found a grower so that's half the battle, right? Thanks again!

you sure your not backwards

sativa is the uppity head high, indica is the couch lock 'stoned as fuck' body high

for me I go sativa in the mornings/afternoon... indica at night before bed to wind down

Ya I think I am mixed up. Years of dealers not caring about names or types of weed can make you seem pretty ignorant. Thanks

Most strains are hybrids or even poly-hybrids, so they have both indica and sativa. a sativa that is flowered too long can even make someone tired. an indica that is cut somewhat early may have more of a lift than it would have had otherwise.

try durban poison or ak47 for some hi-octane speedy meds.

sativa = soaring buzz
indica = couch lock sleepytime, feelin no pain

Thanks Abe. I feel like I need the high-octane for work and creative ventures, but definitely the down at night. Does vaping it just give you the THC which is the speedy part of the high?

Some vapes allow you to dial the temp in. If you keep it on the low end of temp, w/ the right herb, you will get a higher energy much cleaner buzz, yes. or, throw the waste out just when it starts to smell/taste like burnt popcorn.

some people dial the temp way up, or keep running the same herb for so long that it starts to become a heavier smoke-like vapor. then, it will have more cbd, or whatever that makes you tired. either way the vape is healthier and has less nasty bi-products that occur when you combust herb.

 yes you learn a lot here if you just read and be polite :) Like, I know about plants and nutrients deficiencies & ph relations/light spectrums, humidities relating to resin, uv-b relating to resin, alll that shit and etc. but I didn't really ever look into ventilation, carbon filters, hoods, ballasts and different setups but I learned 100% of what I needed here in about 4 hours like to setup the whole thing including what brands I now preferred and where to hang and vent everything.. knowledge man  bongsmilie...

Hell yeah man me too. Right now it's green crack before work, some heavy indica and a tv show before bed ;).

If you want to really get into this shit, start looking up TRICHOMES, how they grow/ age, and HOW they effect the high the bud has. You can find a lot of this type of information in harvest time related articles. For example, this is a very good one, and gets into the type of highs produced. I once saw some guy here who flowered a white widow plant to like 13-14 weeks. The plant was just RED because all the trichs degraded to amber.. Amber trichomes hold the most cbn/cbd & result is a couch lock/body stone.. He said this red colored white widow was no longer recreational  smoke a few bowls and your just OUT.. like seriously knocks you the fuck out. Great for sleep though :)

Regardless, whether or not theres any substance to the aforementioned study, its easy to get the high you want.
If you want a soaring 'cerebral' high: Get yourself a tropical sativa that contains a high level of THC-V and grow it until it is ripe.
If you want the narcotic couchlock stone, grow a rugged indica until its ripe.
Notice a pattern of growing it until its ripe? Its a really good rule to live by.
OF course we have to remember that there is more to a good high than just THC. At last count there are at least 66 cannabinoids, and we don't know what most of them do.

It's all good

Yeah man I have a volcano digital. Digital readout, and 2.2f accuracy :D All the vapor is pretty good. I like to start at 365 and work my way up to 392. But yes as always the first few bags are amazing :) especially with some good herbs.. i have blue crack, green crack, and 'good times' the good times smells/tastes like chocolate, the green crack is just amazing.. like tearing into a lemony skunky SOMETHING  I can't quite put my finger on the smell.. the blue crack has developed this insane blue dreams/green crack mixed stink it's really something incredible.. The bud came cured, but I've had it in the jar for 3-4 weeks now and it's developed some really interesting smells.. if you have good buds get a vape to taste them at their fullest ;)

Hows the application process going if you dont mind me asking? I am also from Canada but was under the impressions we only help people who suffer from Cancer/MS/HIV. Also is growing an option for you? You hear so many people talk about how just the hobby of growing their own can do wonders for their mental and physical pain. Even in the short time I have been a part of this site, getting started on my personal grow has done wonders for me and my day to day life.

Only kinda related but I have a few friends that are Bi Polar and they are huge fans of LSD, Mushrooms, and many other psychedelics. I don't know if they help, or maybe even the opposite. Either way they greatly appreciate the experience. Hope I don't offend, I know this isn't quite the right forum.
