Help, weed plant cut down...

I had my legal indoor weed plants cut down, by someone who didn't want me growing, and they cut up the leaves and main stem pretty good. They were clones, about 18 inches tall. What they left uncut were the plants rootball intact, covered in soil and all. There is about an inch of stem sticking out above the root mass. I planted these in the backyard, where there is tons of space. I'm in Cali, weather isn't to bad even though its January. The plant shouldn't be affected by weather to much anyway, because the only thing sticking out of the ground is a one to two inch stem. I was wondering, will these stems sticking out above the ground show new signs of life/growth eventually???? Will they eventually regrow into a full blown plant??? The reason I ask is because the root mass below the soil is intact, about 4 cubic inches, and I would think it would be able to support a short stem.

Let's say you have a marijuana plant and somebody cuts the main stem one or two inches above the soil so theres just a straight stem sticking out of the ground. A healthy stem.

Haha I know that person won't find them here, it's surely a safe spot. This was my first grow, I was bummed for a couple days when I found out my plants had been demolished. I went to the recycle bin in my backyard to find the cut up plants with roots intact and healthy. The plants were doing well, I'll have to wait till I get my own place to seriously start growing, all I know is based on my plants, I did fairly decent my first go at this amazing hobby, even though it ended somewhat sadly. Well, maybe it isn't over yet with my green crack and pineapple Thai clones.

There have been experiments about trying to get MJ roots to grow new clones but I don't think it was ever successful. There are plant species that lie dormant in the ground as bulbs, and plants that you can split their roots in half and create 2 plants, MJ is not one of these species, it relies on pollination and seed to continue it's life. Move on and if you are in Cali go and get some new clones and find a new location.

Good luck,

There are no leaves, and I'm not sure what a growth pt is.
A growth point is where new growth/branches come from, if youve got no leaves left its done anyway though. You can hope against hope they will somehow regenerate themselves, but ultimately i think its futile. Best to start over and not waste time.

you should cut that fuckas head off and then plant him in the ground feet down, and then see if he grows a new head.i'd be furious if someone chopped my plants up like that.

Sambo asked what I was wondering too. Was this on your private property?! If so I'd say erect a fence and get a dog.
