Mites!! - can i spray my plants for mites during flowering ???

soil grow. the plants are about 6 weeks into flowering and the flowers are looking quite pretty. but then today i noticed spider mites! damn!

the spray mix instructions not only ask to spray entire plant, but then a few hours later, spray entire plant with plain water. i'm concerned because its not recommended to spray water on the buds, as it can cause mold.

can i spray pesticide on the plants this late in the game? if not, please make suggestions.

With what are you spraying? Most organic compounds are safe on flowering plants. I'd be suspicious with instructions that included a water wash after spraying. Spraying plants will not cause mold in & of itself. Mold will become present dependent upon a number of elements including, heat, moisture in the room, air quality, etc. Many growers spray plants with nutrients throughout the entire season, grow & flowering. I'd recommend Zero Tolerance by Ed Rosenthal. Check it out around the web & email me for more info and any questions. Good luck!

Get some Neem oil, follow the directions... it will leave the plants with a kinda waxy look... hit em again 3 days later and if still signs 3 days after that.... then after harvest blast teh shit out of everything with the solution of neem oil... I have saved one of my grows and a buddys with this all natural substance.... Neem and don;t panic

you can NOT spray pesticide on your flowering plants. in veg its fine but in flowering you cannot because you now have open flowers and trichs all over it and the pestice will never come off the sticky. you neem oil or use something everyday to wipe the webbing off, its about all you can do this late in the game

get a shop vac and vacuum them off every day, increase your fan speed so they cant build webs. the shop vac is the best idea i have ever seen, my buddy just tried it the other day, it worked well for him. labor intensive and you lose some trichs but you dont have to worry about pesticides. after you harvest, bleach and bomb the room.

azamax is working well for me. is a general hydro product. its a tad bit expensive but the thing is a little goes a long way.. its a natural product so plants are pretty tolerant of it.. I find myself trying to use a little less now and using it more frequently. once a week or every 10 days. you can soil drench or spray in any stages. Im trying to use soil drench with light amounts of azamax during flower, because the plant is supposed to absorb it and hold is as a risidual that is also effective.. I dont know if soil feeding or spraying is more effective i just use small amounts of both and frequent.. mites suck. you dont want any starting to thrive all the sudden gettin close to harvest..im gonna soil drench with azamax up untill about 2 and a half weeks.. 1 more nute feed. then 2 weeks final flush etc. .. this product is working great so far.. i just bought another 4 ounces of it for 22 bucks. itll get me through a couple of grows. its safe to use close to flower..Ill spray only if i have to.. but the soil drench seems to work..Ive also used it on gnat larva and it knocked them down well.. a 4 ounce bottle of this stuff can treat i would say 5 or 6 large plants in 8 gallon containers.. thats a pretty big round. lol. /.. my outdoor plants are just a couple weeks into flower and dont have much bud mass yet so they will get one more light spraying of azamax tonight..I have my theorys that spraying the plants efficiantly with a nice mist .. but my indoor plant has had a recent soil drench its had no sprays for over a couple weeks and no sign of mites.. azamax absolutely slows them down mostly if not completley. its working wonders over here and calfornia mites are no joke

Get Mighty Wash and you can Spray up until Harvest Day, of course you want to make sure you dry it well depending on how much you use but that's the best part. You cannot Use too much Mighty Wash & it wont taint your buds at all, their is no smell. & you do not need to worry about washing it off. <3

be careful tho. (i kno this question was asked over a year ago.. but sum ppl can still search this.. find this thread and find sum useful info) i have used pesticide/miticide sprays during flowering... and some spray actually burn off all the white hairs right off the plant... =/ all the white hairs will turn red/brown adn shrivel up and eventually die... it sucks... you can use Hot Shot No Pest Strips as well.. as long as your infestation is not too bad. it will work wonders. i used it... and it got rid of them for a lil while... but eventually they came bak. must not have got rid of them all. =/ have heard good things about azamax and/or sumthin else called azatrol or sumthing similar to that. havent tried lady buds yet.. but i might try that soon actually... cuz i still have mites! =/ its been months adn months now.. im not going to flower any more plants... gonna clean up my vegging plants since theyre all small. (therye all under 4 inches) get a new veg box (cuz mites will hide and wait.. and they can also hide in the soil as well soo be careful!) and let all the flowering plants finish up. and then clean up the flowering room. adn hopefully that will rid me of them!! =/ they suck..

This is what I did when I had knats and spider mites infestation. Get a 1 gallon bottle of distilled water (.59 cents), Neem extract oil (@ Lowes $10), Palmolive pure & clear dish detergent (@ Target $4), spray bottle (@ Target $2). Now add 2 teaspoons of the Neem oil and 2 teaspoons of the dish detergent to the 1 gallon of distilled water! Mix it all together in the gallon water bottle. Now pour it into the spray bottle, and spray the sh!t out of the plant! Make sure to spray under the leaves, the soil, the outside of the pot, the water tray, under the water tray! Even the floors and walls around the plant area! Wait 2 or 3 days and check! If you even see 1, re-spray the sh!t out of it again! Repeat the pattern until those lil' fockers are gone! If you spray more than three times, then you have to flush it with ph balanced water! Also make sure to spray right b4 you put your girls to sleep (lights out)! Don't want to burn the leaves!!!
All that for less than 20 bucks!!!!!

Considering that is a soil grow, most likely in plantpots take the plants into the shower or the bath. Cover the soil with plastic so the mites can't land in the soil. With your pump up sprayer with plain water and a soft paint brush clean the mites off the plant and send them down the drain. While this is going on give the grow room a good spraying with bug killer. After the plants are clean and the air in the grow room has cleared put the plants back into the grow room. Repeat as needed. Eventually there will be no mites left in your grow room. Simply spraying poison or other substances on the plants is not the answer.

As crazy as the vacuum method is its actually very helpful to keep them from destroying the girls and its way less damaging than spraying azamax on your flowering girls .

no way I use a vacuum . my woman sucks hard enough ! lol no way I use a vacuum on the plants suck all the sugar off them suggest going to your hydro store asking for advice . a lot of people swear by might wash . don't waste your time with neem oil if your infected with mites they will just keep eating away it wont even slow them down for 1 day . these bugs do not care they will just keep eating your plants . have to crank up the fans run them 24/7 and crank up the dehumidifier and the ac keep it cool under 70 less chance of mold also drys the air .
