Show Me What You Got LST?

That is a lovely picture. So question for all your LST growers. When do you untie? Years ago when I learned this (never much practice obviously) I read that you LST during veg and untie it before flower. Now I am reading up on LST in this thread and there are so many pretty posts of some of ya'lls budding plants still in LST.

So when do you decide its time to untie? Does anyone keep them tied up until harvest? I will be moving my partially LST'd plants into flower soon and would love any suggestions! (partially 'cos I LST'd untied, and LST'd again when I felt they were getting too lanky.)
i dont untie them cuz it almost defeats the purpose of lsting in the 1st place, i untied 1 time 2-3 weeks into flower and they all bounced up and bunched together so i retied them all. theri is no reason to untie once in place.
just leave them tied man,

How much more do you feel plants yield using the LST method? (Just a general number). I know all the factors count a lot (lighting, nutes, net), but if those elements were kept the same, how much more using LST? (An ounce? Two?)
harvest can increase by double or even decrease it all depends on how well the grow is going and every thing else comes into play, but when i switched to lst i saw my yeild double

Generally speaking, from the looks of it I am going to double if not more my frineds harvest of the same strain.
He got about an oz and a half per plant, were I'm looking at 3 to 4 ounces per plant. (same nutes, soil, and wattage.400 veg, 600 flower)

Difference is, I'm extreme LST from the first week of veg. Everything gets tied down. If I can't string it, I stake it or weight it down.
I'm only about 18 inch's above the soil line after 4 weeks of flower for heigth, (14 inchs of that 18 is all tops)but my spread is over 36 across from top to top.
They were so wide that 6 plants in 5 gallon pots filled my 4 x 8 grow tent.

The ammount of additional buds depends on how you LST and how much you LST

New to this thread. i had no idea this thread was started...... i had a few pic to load from my current twins (bluecheese from barneys farm fems). i love the lst method since i have a lot of control on to how many colas i would like........................ on this one i lst about three weeks into veg and now im in my 4th wk of flowering.........................
on here i lst them and then took a few pics. oh and btw im using only a 150hps. with my last grow i had LSD and NortherSkunk which both yielded just under the 2oz weight coming from containers not even a gallon big........

Thanks for getting back to me about LSTing--I'm excited to try it :).

Right now I've got my ladies growing in Rockwoll, which isn't necessarily the easiest environment to LST in--any suggestions on how I should do it?

(I thought about just taking string and weighing it down with a rock to pull the plants down, but im sure there's a better way--maybe ivy board sideways? But I don't want to block the light either...

My Reeferman Willie Nelson's at 2 weeks veg.

My 2nd grow from bagseed at 6 weeks flowering. They were started under CFL's and straight from cloning went to CFL LED 3:1 for first four weeks of flowering. Final flowering is under 150wHPS w/ 3000K LED on every plant with cfl around perimeter of tub.

here is my cheese plant from a few weeks back, it looks nice and healthy and strong, some textbook lst.

here it is now, it's a mess, the buds got to heavy for the stems to hold and it all just flopped over, i'm harvesting this week so i have given up trying to get it to stand up again.

Hey GHB, did you top her and then do LST (probably not related to the droop, just curious due to her pretty menorah-like form)?
Also do you have a breezy environment/a fan?
The plant still looks nice, just heavy - maybe use some poles/crutches to prop her up instead of anchoring with the strings.
Personally my LST plant just went into flower and the secondary cola branches are looking pretty weak (think its 'cos I didn't LST from the start)...so I will be trying to avoid the droop too.

Has anyone tried LST ing outdoors? I'm thinking of putting some clones in once the ground is thawed and then lst them so that I get all the advantages.

I am going to be attempting some interesting Lst on my next grow (Soon), im going to start all 4 of them in the middle of my NFT and then bend each one over to the corner opositethen train them in a ZigZag style pattern along the tray of the NFT. My overall goal is lots of Cola's :) Plus i think it would look real cool.

I will up my autogrow pics once harvest is over with. There is Snowryder, Auto Lemon, Blue Himalaya, Himalaya Blue Diesel, Red Dwarf and Gnomo Auto. I had to Lst a couple of these lil ones

Yes, gardeners do this often to grow their plants behind other plants so the general public isn't the wiser to what's in the heart of their gardens.

... i also heard usin the mh will produce more trichomes if u use it the last 2 weeks of flower, just what ive been herin though u=i have no expeirenc with mh lights:bigjoint:
I know that this is from an old post but i though i would give a heads up: using the MH light exposes your plant to more UV-B. This activates the plants natural defences and causes it to produce more essential oils. this is very similar to the melatonin reaction in humans that causes our skin to darken in sunny climates. i like to suplement with 10% uv-b reptile bulbs during the last half/third of flowering. :D

I lst my plants by hanging a small chain around it kinda like garlin on a christmas tree. also my stems are fat as shit. I like to make my biotch's pump sum iron. its just easier than tying down i just slide the chain farther out to the tip once it reaches for the sky again.
