150w HPS Box Test Run (TGA & Reserva Privada)

It's been a little while since the last experiment, and it's going down to a smaller scale. Quantity is no longer my interest, i seek quality in small controlled areas. I feel that in the right conditions, this can be achieved easily. This is a test run, so i'm just using from seed plants that i bought as singles.

THE BOX:

18"Wx24"Hx24"L (approx)
Inside is lined with mylar and thick white plastic bag, insulated with an inch of styrofoam, then sealed on the outside with a layer of black plastic sheet and cloth.

3x 80mm cpu fans (approx 30 cfm ea.) 1 intake at "ground" level, 2 exhaust just about light line behind light.

there's about 18" between the light and the ground level.

The Plants:

These little bubs were sprouted under t12s and a few 40w cfls. kept in 18/6 for about 2 weeks or so. Today's the first day of 12/12.

(Runt of the group, the only fem seed, and the only one that will be getting chemical nutes.)


They're all in 18oz cups where they will probably stay just for the test run. The soil mix is 2 parts local potting mix (soil, compost, perlite, etc), 1 part vermiculite, and another cup or so of perlite to make it drain a little better.

One feeding of blood meal for (N), and now they will get General Organics vegan bloom (og#18 gets cns17 by botanicare instead) with Pure Blend original to top it off.

I've never done anything with a 150 before so i'm more worried about the box being to cold.

Very interested to see how this turns out been thinking of a similar set up to get some seeds of my own in a small place away from the sensimilla.Good luck(outdoor grower terminology).

whats up pon de flor? im sub for the ride bro. Whats the temps you got going on now? day temp and night temp.
if this is your first time with 150 you will be happy with the end results if everything goes right. i use 150 as well and i get very good results. my last harvest was around the 2 ounce weight and thats with only two pots that werent even a gallon and i had a real bad eagle claw that stunted the growth quite a bit. best of luck to ya man.

the daytime temp avg is about 74-76, with a very cool breeze. it dips into the 60's at night because it's starting to get cold. i have it set so that the lights are on at night so i have to wait for the first readings after tonight since this is the first day with the babies in there.

after this test round, this is going to be a mini-sog box. four rows harvesting every other week.

Day 6!

Overall growth has been nice and steady. OG isn't doing so great, main cola litterally wilted off over night,so it was topped. It might be tossed.

The Flav is my favorite so far!

saw one or two thrips this morning so NEEM OIL to the rescue! If i contiue to see them, laying down some grave/sand to kill any babies.

The flav is getting HUGE. Big leaves with a nice color that all the TGA babies seem to have. Spacebomb is second biggest, with cheesequake and og18 tied for last place.

OG is making a come back, though i'm not entirely sure how she will do after whatever the fuck that was.

Thrips weren't going away. so i had to lay some rocks down in the containers.

Spacebomb is male, probably going to atleast harvest the pollen. Cheesequake is barely squeezing out it's first two hairs.

Day 22 and things are grrrrrrrrrrrreat!!

CQ is about medium sizes, fastest in flowering, and has such a stink. Flav is giant and has really big healthy leaves. OG18 is taking it's time...

week 5 is almost over, and things look great. Another week or two and i'll start the flush. some say you only need 2 days flush, but in soil you want ALL of it out, or it'll taste like shit. OG 18 was having alot of problems, so i killed her off. luckily i have clones!
