I've had quite a few people ask me now how I built my vape, well I'll try and explain it best as possible with the pics.:bigjoint:

Total cost is less than $50!!!!:clap:

Materials; Digital heat gun, 3/4" to 1/2" pipe reducer, electrical tape, oven bag, screens, plastic pipe.

I purchased the digital heat gun here--> http://www.menards.com/main/paint-wall/paint-stain-accessories/painting-tools/heat-guns/wagner-heat-gun-ht3500/p-1368402.htm?cid=1307
Plastic pipe--> http://www.drillspot.com/products/401427/approved_vendor_1pny6_extension?s=1
Fitting--> http://www.toolboxsupply.com/productdetails.aspx?sku=10456606&source=GoogleBase

This heat gun only allows a setting of either 350F or 450F and the temp we want is 400F so in the cone we add to the heat gun we have to punch 2 small holes to help lower the temp. (Cannabis starts to burn at 450F)

For metal I used some thick aluminum flashing but pop can metal will work and electrical tape to hold it all together, heat resistant would be best.

Start by making a cone for the end of the heat gun. This will help direct the flow of air into the chamber. Make sure everything gets a nice seal when put together and that the small end of the cone fits snugly into the chamber fitting.

The pipe reducer will be the chamber the bud goes in. I wanted to use the size I chose because it holds the larger screens you can buy at any local head shop. Now because it's a reducer it has a lip on the inside stopping the screen from going all the way through, this allows us to place the screen inside then put weed in on top. Place the second screen on top of the weed to hold it in place sandwiching the weed in between the two. The second screen gets held in place by the threads inside the reducer.

To connect the bag to the chamber I taped pop can material to the outside of the reducer extending it about an inch. I use a piece of 1 1/4" plastic tube for the mouth piece and taped it to the oven bag. The mouth piece slides into the chamber completing the vaporizer.

To operate all you have to do is turn the heat gun onto the 450F setting, wait for it to warm up, then place the chamber and the bag on the cone and you'll see the vapor fill the bag, then smoke.:eyesmoke:

So would you even rate your close to as good as an actual vape?

The plastic there seems like it would melt or something?

This is a really good idea for a homemade. I might just use this, but then again i might just go buy one :p

Got a pic of it filled up?

this is fucking awesome. I love this kind of stuff. Reminds me of all the crazy shit we used to come up with back in high school. people dont realize companies like volcano start out with these same basic (yet amazingly innovative and constructive) ideas. I am definitely making one of these

bravo, 420 god:clap:

Nicely Done!
Here's one I made a couple years ago with metal plumbing fittings. It uses a union fitting, which screws apart and creates a nice chamber if you screen off each half - I used some stainless steel mesh from a kitchen strainer. The elbow fitting absorbs some of the heat, so I use a higher setting, but it's more hands-free.
