first off, this Short Rider is 56 days from seed... that's right, today is 56 days from when i held the seed in my hand.... okay, AND she's under CFL's... unreal...

so, as you can tell. i'm happy. but the yellowing is still concerning me... i'm just thinking she's flowering really fast and the yellow is natural because i gave her a GOOOD nitrogen feed this past sunday... ph is between 6.5 and 7... the yellowing started a little over a week ago from the bottom up, but damn she has tripled in bud growth since so i'm just not gonna worry too much... what do ya'll think??

Looks good. I wouldn't worry about the yellowing, that plant is just in fall mode and is killing off the unnecessary leaves to redirect the food where it's important.

very pretty, the yellowing could be because its getting close to harvest time, get a microscope so u can harvest at exatly the right time according to the kind of smoke u like

yellowing of the leafs.. is 100% normal. The further a plant gets into flowering.. the less need it has for the big fan leafs... therefore the more mature the plant gets into flowering.. the more yellowing of the leafs you'll see. This is the plants natural way of getting rid of the fan leafs. Eventually, you should have a few that will even fall off the plant on their own. Which is another reason why I've always told noobs.. to never clip off the fan leafs. Let the plant do it on its own.

IMO, she looks great bro. If it were me? I would go ahead and start checking the trichs on the buds and see how they're doing. But yeah, she's looking beautiful my man.. keep doing whatever your doing. But remember.. don't get too cocky!!! Let her do what she wants/needs to do.. let her do her own thing and she'll reward you greatly at harvest time.

Keep us posted!!!

peace.

preciate the kind words ganjaluvr... yeah i've been letting them yellow/shrivel up and then i just genetly pull them right off... i let the plant get what it needs from them first... i've just been giving her some fox farm tiger bloom and really not much... the fox farm ocean forest soil is UNBELIEVABLE! i'm convinced that if you have a fast grower, the soil is almost enough!

when my leaves start to turn yellow i feed them. ;)

yellowing leaves is a lack of nutes.

you know i wonder if he smokes still... i heard he quit, but i mean come on... he's DAVE! i have a cd/dvd of the gorge from years back and you can see him come out of the bathroom with a big cloud of smoke behind him, and he says.... "oh man, smells like bananas" then he walks on stage and plays an awesome setlist... what a life!

Good job my friend. Just keep doing what your doing and you'll do just fine.
If you;ve never grown Nirvana's AK48.. I would recommend that one for you.

It's a quick flowering strain.. I have my last AK48 going right now.. and she's 6 and 1/2 weeks into flowering.. er well its been 6 and 1/2 weeks since she showed her first pistils. Anyhow, my point is.. is she's only 6.5 weeks into flowering.. and she's already "looking" like she's close to being ready. I've checked the trichs.. and I have maybe 10% clear; 80% cloudy and 10% reddish/brownish color... the ones that are dark reddish in color.. those tell me that those actually have resin in the trichs head or 'dome'. The cloudy ones.. are right behind the reddish ones.. and won't be long before they start turning amber/reddish in color as well. But again.. she's only 6.5 weeks into flowering. I'm thinking she'll be ready at around 7 and 1/2 weeks or so.

anyhow, I'm stoned.. and rambling. Take care and best of luck man.

peace.

steveo,

I think that's pretty dam impressive for only being 56 days from seed (and under cfl's no less).

It looks to me that it's gotten to be a little to much plant for the size pot it's in. I'd bet that upcanning it to a larger pot and getting some fresh soil that the roots could grow out into would really make it take off (and really help it's final yield). Because I'm guessing that plant has to be pretty root bound in that size container right now.

You didn't go into detail about what you were feeding them but I'll bet if you read the label closely you won't find any Mg (magnesium) in it. If you know the plant has enough Nitrogen I'd have to suspect that they might be a little short on Mg. Especially with the way the leaves are yellowing while the viens are still holding some of their green.

If my plants start to show what yours are I give them a dose of Epsom Salt (@1/2 teaspoon/gallon) when I do a watering. That will make some Mg available to them. In my experience it won't "bring back" the leaves that are already yellowing and restore them to a healthy green state but it will keep that condition from spreading up thru the plant and affecting more and more of your foliage.

great help ganjaluvr/jack... i appreciate it fellas... yeah now my pot is a 1 gallon... i kept in small because it's a small plant, but i've been also thinking that she's a little rootbound... now, i'm worried that i'm too far along and transplanting might kill her. so now i'm afraid of what to do... i have a bigger pot and ready to pull the trigger, you guys think she'll be okay with a transplant this far along?
