people are so caught up in the hype of this legalization when its gonna do nothing but hurt california(as if we arent hurt bad enough). my point of view is that pot keeps many people eating and a roof over their heads right now and the last thing we need is the government with their fingers in that controlling it and ruining it no doubt. im voting NO and hope everyone else does the same as so we dont have more people going hungry and losing everything they have. thanks for reading

So you believe it is better to send otherwise innocent people to prison, so the few can make more money? Sounds a little bit familiar....

I am not from California so I can't really comment too much, but I tell you that it's more than just Californians who are watching this one. I'm hoping that this is going to be the big spark needed to light the flame under all our politicians asses. My concern is definitely not the commercial grower who's gonna be losing money, but me, the one who's gonna save some, finally, and gain his freedom to use cannabis like his neighbor uses alcohol. :peace:

i agree that sending the few to prison is bad but its not the few who make money it is the majority. many people grow and sell and trade pot to make a living. what if that goes away? and the government now makes more money and the little guy gets hurt...again. im not an expert im just stating my opinion. even tho revenue will increase we wont see any benefit from it like we dont see benefit from the billions that have been pumped in the economy already.

That is what prop 19 does^^^^^^^^^^ and in C.A. you don't go to court let alone prison for possesion of less than an OZ. I'm on my way to vote NO on tax and controll

prop 19 ADDS new felonies which will send even MORE people to prison.
Definitely not, bro. I understand you probably make your living off of what ya do, but there will be FAR less people getting in trouble if prop 19 sticks. The big time growers would have problems, but 95% of people who smoke pot wouldn't.

so you deny prop 19 includes new felonies?

fact: prop 19 contains felonies that will be added to the law books.

whether more or less people will be arrested can't be predicted.

Well, you said that "EVEN MORE" people would be sent to prison. I'm just saying that that wouldn't be the case. Prop 19 allows you to grow in a 5x5 space, retain the weed that grow from that space in your grow environment, contain an ounce on you at all times, I believe, etc. 95% of pot smokers would be more than fine with that.

IMVHO, no matter whether you're growing to make a living or not, keeping something illegal that you know should be legal just so you can continue to profit from it is just plain greedy. I would never wish to put anyone out of work, and I understand that some people out there just flat out aren't smart enough to do much else. But we're talking about morals here. ANYONE being sent to jail for a crime involving weed is bullshit, and I believe with 100% certainty that there will be far far far less weed crimes going on, if Prop 19 passes.

"even more", as in "on top of those already there". ;)

I thought the new fellones were giveing pot to minors.....that is a bad thing why? I smoke, my parents smoke, but Until my son get old enough (he is only 14) he doesnt need to be smoking or doing any drugs or any kind. I would personally kick someone ass for doing this.

Prop 19 is a step in a forward direction about marijuana laws. This is why us liberals can't get anything done, we are too neurotic and get caught up in the details. OF COURSE any form of legalization or decriminalization is a step in the right direction for our cause. If we can accept this first step then maybe we can take a fucking second one, lol.

what if your grow is too big?
what if you have 2 ounces?
what if you sell one?
what if your landlord doesn't want you growing?

nobody has addressed any of these issues. just kid throwing the children into it all. ;)

Hey guys, just a question from an outsider, if I may. I've only read a quick outline here. I know it's Wiki so please don't crucify me.
Anyway, I see numbers for everything, in particular the 25' ft of grow space allowance and the personal limit of 29.5 grams, but it doesn't say a maximum allowance for number of plants, unless it's whatever you can squeeze in, but what about your dried goods, is there a limit on that, or can you just stockpile? I see lots of non smoking family and friends growing for others if that's the case. Or is it just an open door for the law to manipulate down the road to get someone for what they may deem excessive? Just curious.

Thanks D:peace:

baby steps, bro. prop 19 is a good step, and we can improve things later. right now it's illegal for everyone except med users to posess or grow anything at all. prop 19 will help 95% of pot smokers, and probably hurt those who are making profits, but we have to look at the big picture and vote yes.

I'm voting NO.
Nobody can predict the final outcome of MJ taxation and regulation but my fear is that Cali is going to have to spend alot of money before it starts to see some revenue from MJ T&R. I don't really like the idea of our fine state having to depend on MJ to repair it's infrastructure. SB 1449 has already put an end to the prosecution of MJ posession so I don't see why everybody is so excited about having their stash taxed which is all Prop 19 is. Paying taxes on a controlled substance is a federal crime, just like cultivating 100+ plants. This legislation could back-fire and create thousands of federal criminals. The feds WILL get involved, too much money and power are at stake for them not to. Who they choose to make an example out of is anybody's guess. What if the feds sue Cali? All that (our) money will help fund the war on drugs and further contribute to prohibition.

Also, even though I am not concerned about the woes of large-scale growers that stand to lose from Prop 19, I would still rather the money stay in their pockets rather than a corporation's. People we hate will be in charge of MJ, put it that way.

if you're talking about the medical card in california, the limits are different for each city. for example in san diego you can only have 24 plants, but in santa cruz you can have up to 99. you can also appoint someone to be your "caretaker" where they grow your medicine for you if you are unable to. i think caretakers are not allowed to be cardholders though so you sacrifice a right for someone else's.

i also voted NO today.

i don't want to sound paranoid but i agree with cannatari that the feds will most certainly become involved. for the sake of all MMJ users, i do not want the government to fuck this up, as they have such a knack for doing. it is already decriminalized for possession up to an ounce, and prop 19 will only allow a person to have an ounce. i see this as a tax scam that will not play up to the expectations it has created. a recent study at a university also showed that it's not going to generate the billions of revenue that it was advertised to do, but only $342 million if all goes well. you will see a number of increased raids for growers who are content in their business now. i just do not want to see marijuana enter the world of large corporations because they will ONLY care about the money, not people or quality.
