The screen is only about 2 foot diameter which is the light footprint of the Kessil when hung at 40cm above the plant - this is the height that gives the best coverage before the light intensity starts to deteriorate ... so I should easily be able to flower the whole screen - if the plant stretches to fill the screen :-)

It's all a learning experience, in a couple of weeks I will know how far Red Dragon plants stretch when put under 12/12 - useful information as my second Red Dragon grow will only be 3 or 4 weeks behind the first.

The clones for the second grow are looking healthy with new growth and I expect that after 3 weeks of growth & LSTing, they will be ready for 12/12 under the screen.

got an email from that Kessil Company today and they plan on having an Australian Distributor very soon :) so hopefully after your test crop they have a very warm welcome in Australia :P

If all goes well maybe I should hit them up for a freebie for all the free advertising they are getting :-)

27th October 2010 (Day 49 from seed packet)

I just switched the Red Dragon to 12/12, now hopefully I will see some stretching to fill the screen.
I haven't scrogged before, nor grown under LEDs so I have absolutely no idea how much this plant will stretch and whether the screen will get filled ... that's what makes it fun.
The rest of the grow will be under the single Kessil H150 Magenta light.

Here is the latest photo plus the previous one for comparison, the next photo will probably be in a weeks time and hopefully there will be a noticable difference by then.

The information about the growth rate and amount of stretching under 12/12 will let me work out how large to grow the clones for the next scrog.
The clones that I removed from this plant 14 days ago are doing great, all have put out healthy fresh growth and there was minimal leaf yellowing before they rooted.
They are no longer under the humidity dome and are just soaking up the CFL light.
I expect to start LSTing the 4 most vigorous clones in about a weeks time and put them under the screen in maybe 3 weeks time, but this depends on how fast and far the original Red Dragon stretches.
Here is a photo of the 8 clones ...

My last lot of seeds arrived yesterday - I now have 15 strains to play with.

My second Kessil H150 Magenta light arrived 10 minutes ago, so as soon as my clones are ready I will duplicate my SCROG set-up.

It looks like I'm done spending money for a while and can forget the customs related paranoia and get on with growing.

hey grumpy wats up? hows the ladies? any new pics?
Hi Rasta, not a lot happening - very little stretch and no sign of real flowers yet.
This LED certainly seems to be keeping the plant VERY compact, either that or I have other issues that I don't know of yet.

Tomorrow will be 7 days since the last pikkie and I will take a snap then.

On a better note, those clones that I took are doing great, all look very healthy and soon I will be selecting which ones are for cropping and which are for seed production - I think that they are a bit ahead of my projected schedule.

The surviving Magic Bud seedling is looking OK, not quite symmetrical with its growth, but far better than the two others that died - totally shitty seeds.

Pikkies tomorrow.

.... and can everyone please remember to vote YES, vote early and vote often.

NOooo!! no issues allowed! I am dying to see how well this light performs. NO whammies!!!
Well, the plant is certainly not looking for more light.

A couple of leaves have a few blemishes which I think is simply because they are pressed firmly against the (solid) screen and they have absolutely no movement or rest from the constant light.
Other than that there is nothing notably wrong with the plant, no obvious deficiencies, no overdosing on nutes - just that the little lady won't open up and stretch ... that doesn't quite sound right :-)

Red Dragon Clones (2nd November 2010 - 21 days since the snip)

The 8 clones that I removed from the Red Dragon are doing very well and I have selected the 4 clones that will be scrogged together, leaving the others to partake in my mad Colloidal Silver experiments.
The clones that will become seed bearers will be switched to 12/12 in about a weeks time and the one that will be the pollen donor will be switched maybe 2 weeks later.
The reasoning behind this move is to allow the seed plants to produce a nice number of flowers on small plants before the pollen is ready ... I would hate to have the pollen ready and only a couple of female flowers ready to accept it.

This photo shows the clones that won't be scrogged as well as the Magic Bud seedling (in the round pot) - the second photo is a top-down view of the closest clone showing how healthy they look.
These 4 clones are the smallest of the 8, the larger ones are getting ready to be scrogged.

This next photo shows how much I like to fuck around with plants, what I am actually doing may be obvious to some, and will totally baffle others ... but in a few days the plants should happily respond to what I am doing to them.
