Anyone have suggestions on / experience with a low odor auto strain? I'm considering (for many, combined reasons) 60 Day Wonder, SS Bubbleicious Auto, Purple Jems . . . .

. . . or non-autoflowering strains?

Any and all suggestions welcome!

i don't know how realistic this is in your set up but you could buy/make a carbon filter and then grow whatever dank ass buds you preferred...

Oh, I know a carbon filter could be used, I'm just wondering about strains that don't smell a great deal to begin with - still, you're right - I'd rather be growing a super-smelly (if it has a high to match) 20-foot-tall monster plant, I'd just be doing it this way to be as stealth as possible.

Perfect Odour Neutralizer

Well, thanks to 4free, my grow closet room is now odor free! Even the chemical smell of the hydro nutes is gone.

Anyway, here is a step-by-step tutorial showing what I did.

You will need:

1. A five gallon bucket
2. A "muffin" fan, or a round fan of some sort that has the motor built into the compact frame of the fan.
3. A drill
4. A one pound container of Soil Moist, which is a water absorbing crystal. You can find it at almost all nurseries and gorw shops.
5. ONA, or Odor Neutralizing Agent. YOu can get it at most grow shops or "baby" shops for new mommies.
6. A 5 gallong bucket lid, which may be option

Step One
Step 1.Get yourself a muffin fan, or a Durex brand or Holmes brand circular fan with base. They are very common at Wal-Mart and can usually be bought for less than $8 US. The reason you should get this brand of fan is because after you have removed the base, it fits perfectly into a five gallon bucket. 12-198143-OdorBox1.jpg

Step 3.

Remove the fan from the base. Keep all the parts in case you might want the fan again someday. 12-198146-OdorBox3.jpg

Step 4.

Place the fan into the five gallon bucket, frontside up. If you boght the holmes brand fan pictures here it will fit VERY snugly. You don't even have to secure it in place.

(If it is smaller than the opening, then cut a hole, smaller than the diameter of the fan, into the bucket lid. Use some floral wire and secure the fan to the lid so that you can place the lid onto the bucket.)

Step 6.

Remove the fan/lid and put about 9 cups of water into the bucket. Then put about 1 cup of the ONA into the bucket and mix it up. Be careful, it can smell pretty strong at first.

Step 7.

Put about a cup or two of the soil moist into the bucket. Make sure that all of the liqued is absorbed. You don't have to use alot! The crystals expand to about 50 times their size.12-198156-OdorBox9.jpg

master kush is a good yielder, very resilient and easy to grow and I just finished them and had no need for odour neutralisers at all, even when the drying bud was in the kitchen hanging.

Step 8.

Set the fan on the lowest setting and put it back on the bucket. Plug it in and put it somewhere in the corner of your grow room. I don't actually have mine in the closet itself...

You will notice a difference in about 5 minutes!

You may need to tweak it for your own grow room, but that's the basic design. Thanks12-198158-OdorBox5.jpg

And how long do the contents last in this set up? Nice idea for scaling up or down but can't help thinking why not just put the ONA gel in front of the fan? Seems like over engineering to me, not knocking it mind you.

The key is to run the fan on it's lowest setting
Soil moist last forever, and is cheap any way. When the stuff dries up, add more water and ONA.

At the beginning of the grow you can use alot less of everything, and may not need the machine running 24/7
It's really most important during flowering, stinky time.

Overall operation cost? roughly $30-$40 build. Maintnenance - $20-$30 dollars per year
Power draw - negligable. If you're growing dope, adding a tiny little muffin fan isn't going to compare to the energy cost of lighting and ventilation.

I read bubblegum was low odor, not. It stank of funky goodness worse than LA woman.
Hopefully my carbon filter does the trick.

Okay nice idea but still seems OTT unless you have a BIG space to odour neutralise. +rep anyway!
