First grow, DWC, 12/12 from seed

Started the flush cycle today, Ive been taking samples from both plants and they are pretty damn potent, the trichomes at this point are mostly cloudy/clear with a few random amber heads, I figure ill harvest when there is 5% amber and all the rest cloudy. Ill have some pics by the end of the week

Wow...very nice Lsd. I hope my first is that successful. Look forword to hearing some dry yield numbers. More pics plz.

Caught your grow late but it looks like a sucess! I hope to have similar results on a 12/12 grow of my own (soil but my next will b bubbly)

hey i got a question for you. how do you switch the water in your res? do you pump the week old nutes out then put new water/nute mix in? how do you flush? sorry just im a soil grower and just not tatally clear on DWC hydro. thanx

wow calismoke, ive been readin threw this journal and i was gonna ask the exact same question lol. i too am a soil grower but after my last grow went to shit im definetly goin DWC this time and eventually to aeroponics. but im interested in knowing how he switches his water as well...BTW nice grow lsd...especially for your first time +rep :leaf:

There are 3 main methods to doing this and many variations from grower to grower.
Some do a complete water change after each week of feeding.
Some take out some of the old water and refill with new.
Some only top up with new water and nutes as needed.

As for me, I have not changed any water or cleaned my res through the whole grow.
I've only added PH'd water as needed and fed once a week. Sometimes a half dose in between.

Flushing in hydro is as simple as adding only water with no nutes for 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys!
Pwizzle answered it perfectly, Personally I used the method of giving them a complete water change once a week. I simply took off the lid and set it on top of another tote and would empty out the rez, Give it a nice rinse with hot water and wipe down with a paper towel, and refill with water with nutrients (This was important earlier on in the grow because of algae, Once my plants had a nice little canopy going on it stopped the light from penetrating the lid to the rez)

The only serious problem I encountered in this grow would be my rez size, at about week 5 of flowering with only two plants it was almost impossible to change the water weekly without a helping hand.

Regards to flushing I am just giving them fresh water, I am also removing the old water and adding fresh water every three days of my flush cycle just as an experiment

And for all those who are interested in hydroponics ill give you some info

I used a 4 gallon reservoir. I used the nutes stealth hydro sent me but they were in little packets designed for their 6 gallon rez's so thanks to a little math I had that worked out quick.

I never used a PPM meter because I just didnt have the cash on hand to get one when I started and never really worried about it.

From the start I used well water with a ph of around 5.5-6.0, I only worried about PH when I would fill the rez, So basically I did nothing but change their water and let them grow themselves- No Topping or LST.

If any noobies are wondering about what the most important factors of hydroponics are, after this experiment I would say they are Lights, Nutes, Reservoir and Positive vibes :-P

Peace

Well I got lucky, those positive vibes payed off and instead of throwing my camera, I just hit the power button and guess what happened (for 5 minutes that is)
