That looks like a solid soil mix. If you are unsure of ph of your tap just use bottled water for the beginning and it should be fine.

i have access to a spring it runs into a beaver dam i can get the water before or after the dam which would be more healthy?
Before. LOL Always drink upstream of the herd.

For the micros, go the Fungi Perfecti www.fungi.com

I use MycoGrow Soluble. Will cost you a whopping $8 delivered for enough mycos and BB to treat 150-250 plants (12 gallons of solution).

Or, you could spend $30-$100 for the same stuff at a hydro shop, or from one of the 'MJ' nute company's.

Don't get ripped off paying for pretty labels and marketing hype. Fungi Perfecti has been around since before the internet and way before any of these MJ nute lines. Many of them buy from places like FP and just re package the spores, then jack the price up 10x.

LOL

Nothing like putting everything into 1 inexpensive package is there?

I like the one (GH, IIRC), that splits the stuff into Mycos and BB, then charges ~$40 for each.:hump::finger:

$80 or $5.95? ..... Let me think about that.

Look at both of the list of spores/bacteria, they look to be identical.

I would bet that the Great White is repackaged MycoGrow or similar. Fungi Perfecti has been around since the mid '80's, not a newcomer at all.

I doubt that very few if any of these nute lines actually grow their own Myco's or BB's, but buy in bulk and repackage.

$36/4oz isn't too bad. Not great, but a long shot from the $80 for the M&B deal.

I agree. Looks like the MycoGrow™ Soluble might have a bit more variety? And definitely a good price. Good info thanks again.

I just want to second the recommendation for the Mycogrow product. The simple fact that Great White contains vitamin B1 makes me think it is a big scam. B vitamins have been shown to have absolutely no effect on plant growth.

I had been wanting to try Mycogrow for a while but I never got around to it, figuring my organic soil and additives had enough myco already. I finally got around to it and noticed within a week that my persistent powdery mildew issues just disappeared.

$8 is cheap, and Paul Staments is a mushroom god. Its a shame more hydro stores aren't carrying his product directly.

Your plants aren't going to get giardhia or any other microorganism issues, either is fine.
Get your water from wherever you see the healthiest shores, if the shores are nice and lush the water is going to be fine. I have never ever seen anybody having any problems from using reservoir/lake/pond water. Nor have I ever heard of anyone having issues with it.
what you DON"T want is farm run-off, that the stuff that'll screw everything up

Hey Wetdog, how/ do you apply it/how much? I'm guessing when you first mix the soil? If it adds the much to the nutrient profile, ~6 is awesome. Thanks
