increasing yield

alright so i recently ordered white widow seeds from attitude, got 2 free seeds, got them in the original breeders pack within a week...fuckin sick...

but, what i really wanna know about is for my current harvest, the top colas are kind of thinner than I had hoped, at least thinner and less juicier than my last batch...i have 2 150 watt hps, and like 5 supplementary 150 cfls...

i recently started experimenting with putting a tablespoon of sugar in with my nutes when i water them, in the hopes that that will help my yield, anybody else have other tips of things i can do to improve my yield? i havent really messed wtih trimming fan leaves...i just want bigger colas primarily, any tips?

There are so many threads about this and most are filled with myths

most recent I have seen is here

The actual best thing you can do to increase yields is SIMPLY GROW EM PROPERLY which most folks don't do, cause they want to push the plant as hard as they can thinking it will yield more
ya ive looked around...i got a question though in regards to a total dark period at the end of the flowering...alright so does making the plants sit in total darkness for a few days do anything?
also, if i just want to chop the top cola, and then let the rest of the plant grow a little longer to allow the lower nugs to develop a little more, should i not use a blackout? how long do people usually turn the lights off for?

You need to put down the sugar and stop screwing with your plants this is why you have low yields

1st of happy plants will give you a good yield

2nd Start using Molasses instead of sugar, I used Blackstrap Unsulfured, 1 tbsp per gallon during flowering every other water

And don't mess with the timing of your lights. 12/12 until you pull them after they are ready and if you don't know how to tell when they are ready do some reading

Good luck

I give 3 days of total darkness, which is supposed to increase weight via greater oil production due to the increased stress by communicating to the plant that the end is near... it will not grow any larger once it has been put into complete darkness.

I wouldn't do this if you're planning a multi-stage harvest.

You should be using unsulfured black-strap molasses instead of pure sugar.

Also, look into training, pruning and/or topping your plants.

alright so dont use table sugar apparently... molassas doesnt effect he ph of the soil? how often do you give it molassas with its watering? and do you give it molasses right up till the end of harvesting or do you stop at some point?

IMO the key factors to bigger yield is

More light
Veg longer
Bigger Pots

All the other crap u do may yield abit more here and there but i believe these 3 are the most important to a noticably larger yield

tablespoon of molasses to every gallon of nute water? how long do yall do that for? their 6 weeks into flowering in a projected 8-9 week strain.

alright, i got like 6 plants, ranging slightly in height from about 1.5 ft to just above 2 ft; i got 2 150 watt hps and like 5 150 watt cfls around it...i recognize that id like more light but watever, limited budget... i used 10 inch pots, too small?

my primarily problem is that my cola doesnt seem to want to travel far down my main stalk, i have a lot of bare stem visible, how do i make the buds fill in down the whole stalk?
