Growing Purple Indoors??

From what I read the reason why Purple is an outdoor weed is because of the sun spectrum which is not mimicked completely by bulbs. The green/purple spectrum is what gives it that color...

Is this true?

I was going to try and grow some DP Purple #1 indoors.

But doesn't seem to make sense if the bud isn't going to look like true purple and dry to all green....

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Growing outdoors is NOT an option....

Thanks....

from what I understand of purpling..
Night temperatures that drop due to the onset of fall cause the rootzone temps to drop, prohibiting the plant from uptaking potassium and phosphorus.
You can achieve purpling in hydro by flushing for a week with an ice block in your reservoir. Get the root zone cold, deny it the nutrients, have purpling genetics helps too. I have Purple Urkle that this method works well on.
But I use soil and it works to just put a block of ice on top of the soil at night, letting the cold water drip on the roots.

some people like to run their a/c units at night in the last week or so to reproduce the onset of fall. I've heard 45-50 degrees Fht. is sufficiant.

Can any one clarify the info given here? ive just sent my bro off to ali bongo to pick up some purple #1 seeds for our indoor grow, the choice was made due to welll..... its freakin purple. Is it true it wont achieve its true colour grown in soil under mh and hps light?

it will. However I am unsure if it needs cold to purple. I have some pw going that got a little cold and they turned purple as hell however some heri and el monstre did not at all. If it is a puple strain then it will purple either on its own or most likely if the temps drop a little. I have some lavender going that is supposed to turn black it is so purple. this is all inside.

purple #1 is a purple strain and shouldn't require any cold temps to achieve the purple color. Cold temps will only shock the plant and your harvest will suffer just grow it like any other MJ plant it should turn purple but I'm pretty sure it's an outdoor only strain which means that it might not grow well indoors but not necessarily.
There are other options for purple buds

if your heri is purple then idk as sannie does not lust the strain lineage/ just thc! Lol. but the cold and the gh part are moot I think. GH? I use gh too, no purple yet for heri and i have had like five so far.

right now I am having a prob. I germed a heri an el mostre and a purplwreck. However I dropped all the seeds! They all grew out and two are female. Fucked cuz I am not sure what to do here. i also have a lavender that is female and def. So I am trying every day to look for the serrated leaves of heri or the smell of el monstre or the purple of purple wreck. I have had a few heri and a few purple wreck and one el monstre before. But they all smell like fruit now and are serrated and are none purple. The smells will change as time goes. CAn you list any characterisics of heri smell for me? Or other traits. Is it a particularily short plant do you remember. One plant is pretty frickin small for its age.

Yeah they are short plants that grow buds like golf balls. The smell is like a grape taffy candy. More on the sweet side than skunky. Can u post a pic? Mabey I can help you Identify the Heri.
