I've heard that marijuana grows wild in many different poor countries, can someone confirm this or give me some details, it would be interesting to know where the orgins of this plant lie.

its said to originate in eastern asia and africa. the rastas covet it because it is said to grow wild on king solomons grave, but yes the herb grows wild all over the world even in america. however the strains that grow wild here are predominatly ruderalis and gives you a headache if smoked. on the other hand if you would go to the hindu kush mountain range in afghanistan and pakastan you would find some of the best weed in the world growing wild. these would be known as landrace strains. a strain of cannabis that grows wild and has pure genetics. these landrace strains are what breeders cross to create all the thousands of strains we have available today. landrace strains grow wild all over the world but the best genetics usually come from the more the higher elevations across the globe.

I have been back packing all over the world and like he said, in the mountain ranges of Afghan there are some very high quality wild strains. That is where Afghan Kush comes from. And there is weed growing all over Africa. Then while hiking in the Rockies I found 7 wild ones growing. Pretty interesting.

there is a poor country here in the u.s. where mj grows wild. years ago i spent some time in iowa. it's called iowajuana. they used to grow hemp there and it's everywhere....
