With one plant just peaking outta the soil should it get light 24h a day or should it get 18h of light and 6h of dark? Someone I talked to said that they should always get light untill you want to sart blooming them.

Well this is all a matter of personal preference. I myself veg at 18/6 I have however have vegged at 24 hours of constant light until I changed to 12/12 for flowering and the only difference I noticed was a increase in my utility bills. In the end this is all up to you. I recommend 18/6.

I totally agree with bigballin007, I try to mimick mother nature, I think you'd be hard pressed to improve on her.

I vegged at 24 hours and then switched to 12/12 to flower... I only kept mine on 24 hours though as i was growing in my garage during winter and it helped keep the temperature up...

If you're in a warm climate then I'd do 18/6 and then switch to 12/12

24 or 18 will both work fine, if there is a difference i doubt you will notice. Some people say more light the better, some people say the plants like the rest they get, the only real difference it will make is in your electric bill. There is no such thing as too much like while vegging.

I think it would just grow alot more, the hotter the plant is the more water it needs. If it get nutes from it water it'll be huge. :weed:

Well its common sense that interrupting the flowering cycle will stress the plant which leads to herming. The plant will be going in and out of flowering, i cant imagine a worse thing for a plant. It like seeing what happens if you throw your car into reverse while driving forward.

Yes I would haft to agree! I tried different hours like that and they either get tall and shrink, no leaves and die after a while. Best to keep 24hrs or 18/6 at first then 12/12

I was told that plants release toxins at night and needed at least a couple of hours dark per day. I've tried it myself and haven't really seen a difference. Next grow I'll use two veg boxes and see if there is a difference.

CORRECTION
Ok apparently i was wrong, there is thread with a guy flowering with 36/12 without ant problems. So i guess it is possible to use 36/12 for flowering but it hasnt been proven to be anymore productive yet.:leaf:

Never heard of plants releasing toxins at night, they release co2.
