i've read a bit about flushing nutes about a week b4 flowering. This is my first grow and plants are looking quite nice. They have been flowering forever and i would say they better b done in 2-4 weeks. anyways i read that you must flush a week b4 cutting those bitches down. I would like to ask what the consequences will b if i dont do this.

im not 100% sure, but i think it takes away some of the harshness of the smoke. im sure some1 that knows more will tell ya for sure, but if you do try to not flush let me know how it works out. thanx n good luck

Would you want to be enhaleing fertalizer vapor into your lungs? Organic nutes wouldnt harm probably but its common practice anyways.

And also, flushing is simply overdosing the plants with water, correct? If its that simple, how do i know how much water is safe to give them at once?

well, i've picked the plants and microwaved them allready and contrary to what i hear, the smoke was EXTREMELY SMOOTH. i dont know why, but ive never flushed them and if this was the result of enhaleing fertalizer vapor into my lungs, then hell yes, i want to do it again

Thought they had two-four weeks to go? And im not sure but i thought flushing was just useing normal pH'd water to water for the remainer of the week.

mr. grow,

I think this is personal preference... For me it all depends on how to get the most weight and the best looking buds.. and I am an aesthetic WHORE...

If you are growing in HYDRO... a 1-2 day flush is adequate... if you are growing in soil... well I never water the last week anyway... but I do not flush...

Many reputable growers (pot snobs) DO flush.... LOL

cheers

20-15-10??? does that seem all wrong to any1 else??? might that explain the long flowering time???

your right bacon it is pHed water. everybody has their own way to harvest to fit their needs. I like to start it about a week and a half to go. then right before I turn off the lights for the last 2 days, i flood them with water and it gets rid of any taste. the smoke is good if I don't flush, I use organic nutes only, but it is 10x better after I am done. he did smoke his shit early didn't he. well if this is your forst grow that is ok as I am sure we all have done it. lol

Keep in mind that these products are highly concentrated nutes.

Twilight has to be mixed with Fulcrum.

Twilight = 48 mm

Fulcrum = 8 mm

I apply this solution 8 days before harvest, but the last 2 days are reserved for flushing. Also note that I only use on certain strains that exhibit good flavors, such as Blueberry, Skunks, and White Widow, just to name a few.

If you are growing with chem ferts like GH flora or similar, you should clear the nutes during the last week of flowering. It will help the plant to use up its reserves stored away in its foliage, this lack of food will force the plant to translocate the extra nitogen and other elements stored in its tissues which will help the final smoke taste much better. No harsh chemical or "green" taste from the excess chlorophyll, nitrogen and other elements in the final smoke.

The best way to accomplish this clearing is to feed only water for about the last week (or less) of flowering.

Flushing.... HMMM Well, some say that by flushing the nutes out your bud tastes (i wont say better) different. SOme say that they can taste the nutes in the bud (how much were they using ???) I know that the plant likes different nutes during veggie stage (N) then flowering (P) but I have never gotten a sprout past the sprout stage (PH issue I think I have worked out) Good luck
