You noticed that too, eh?

ANYHOOO.... so I released the all but the "foundation" ties on my babies last night, will leave them untied for a few days or so. Let them breathe and stretch like they want to do. Then, just when they think they've got control again, I'll re-tie them. There are going to be many good-sized bud sites thanks to the LST! Can't wait to see how bushy they get in the next few weeks!

OH, I'm returning the inline fans I ordered from Home Depot. I found an exhaust blower that's assembled with a cord and everything, will be much easier to mount, and is quieter and more powerful than inline fans. Once that gets here and is installed, then I can flip to 12/12 and be on my way! Until then, my babies will have about a week longer than I'd planned to bulk up and grow up to be bushes! :hump:
damn kat lookin good nice n bushy:mrgreen: nothing wrong with a extra week :)keep up the good work :peace:

Well, they'll be eight weeks along on Saturday, so it's not like they're "over" vegging. (Close to no such thing, but you get my drift.) Eventually I'll let my plants veg as long as they need to get as big as my grow space will possibly allow, but I did want to put these babies to flower at about six weeks.... I'm just too anxious to get my first harvest done, and be finished with brick weed forever! By the time the exhaust fan is delivered and installed, they'll likely have vegged about nine weeks. So they'll get even bushier before the stretch after flipping to 12/12! :hump:

nice and healthy, keep it up!
Thanks! :D So you yielded 1/2 lb. from your first grow, eh? So awesome! Subbed to your current grow.... this I gotta see! :hump:

Look good Kat, hows it goin
Hey you! I was gonna do something I've never done before: PM you and say, "Come look at my grow!" But then you arrived, and all is now great! ;)

OK! Eight weeks along today! They got to stretch for a few days, so I tied them all down again this morning, and did lots of leaf tucking so that the new shoots can get lots of light. Now they look "sad" again, but in a day or two they'll be standing tall.... well, as tall as the restraints will allow them to get, anyhow.

It took me four hours to tie all the branches I now have!!! :o I'm wiped! Fortunately all they need from now on is readjusting or adding a couple ties every few days.

OH, my 5 feminized White Widow seeds arrived on the 13th, and one is germing now.

So, without further ado, here are my babies! (As usual, with a bit of recapping for comparison. lol)

Thanks LAX! :D

Good question. My friend is planning on coming over Monday or Tuesday to install the exhaust fan for me; he also has some inline fans that he offered to me if I want/need them, so I should have exhaust and intake thanks to him! (Couldn't afford to buy two fans.) Once that's all done, I can close the tent and then flip to 12/12! Should be by next weekend, if not sooner.... barring any further obstacles, that is! Fingers crossed!!! :hump:

Oh Hell Yeah...:clap::clap:

I gotta run and do some stuff but I'll be back...
Is that a threat? Thanks Gypsy! I'd love any input you've got, such as when it'll be a good time to remove the restraints once and for all. :hump:

 What a difference a day (with LST) makes!

I wasn't going to post a recap/update so quickly, but the explosion of growth after retying everything yesterday is so awesome I just had to share!

Also got a temporary setup going for vegging today. T brought home an old IV bag hanging thingie  so that I could hang my CFL reflector from it; not the most ideal as it's in front of the plants instead of over them and has to be at a diagonal angle for now because of this, but it'll do until my friend can get here and get something rigged up that'll allow for proper hanging of the lights for that area. At least this way I can keep vegging my clones and seedlings instead of putting them to 12/12 while they're still so tiny; I'll just have to rotate them often for the time being. Cuttings were in the AG, but with the heat they've just not wanted to go further than a couple of tiny roots. So I moved them to soil yesterday, and waiting to see if they make it. I'm really most concerned about the Blue Hash, from which I'll take another cutting if need be, as I only had one seed (my freebie; feminized) and want to keep that as my first mother from this batch. Oh yeah, my WW seed sprouted today. Three days from germ to sprout.

Thanks LAX! :D This is the light system I got: Sun Blaze 8 Bulb T5 Fixture/Bulbs. I got half each 30K & 65K for a great dual spectrum balance. :D They're 4' long and 18" deep, and my tent is 2'x4', so the entire tent is now evenly illuminated. And the temperature has been remaining quite manageable, even without my inline/exhaust fans installed yet! (I think my friend forgot to call today; gonna call him in a few and find out when he's coming to install my fans so I can flip to 12/12!)

There are other brands that are twice the price, but the only difference is the brand name.... What is in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. (Romeo and Juliet: balcony scene. LOL)

Why thank you, girlfriend! ;)

Oh yeah, LST is the way to go! I've done this type of training on other plants in the past, such as ficus. But for MJ, just.... wow!

Nope, last grow was bagseed & this is my second grow. I've heard many praises sung about WW from growth to finished buds, so decided that'd be my sativa dominant strain for now. :weed:

The "laboratory" is lookin great kat :D
Thanks Fro! Cracked me up when I read that.... it's been a while, eh?

Seems to be a preference thing, and quite varied. Some say to wait till the plants are 8-12" tall so they're really strong, while others say they start as early as a couple/few weeks along while they're more flexible and easier to tie down. These four were started with LST when they were 4 weeks old; they're 8 weeks along now, and I feel very confident in saying there's been a lot of growth in the last month from doing this!

My 2 NL seedlings will be transplanted to their full size pots by this weekend, and are 3.5 weeks along now. Once they're in those pots, I'll be starting the ties. (Hmmm, so far I've got a 4 wk. theme going! lol) Topping certainly isn't necessary with LST, that's for sure! These babies are bushy as hell with literally countless bud sites, and about 4" at their tallest limbs! But I'll probably top one of the NL seedlings, to do a side-by-side comparison for future training preferences.

I wasn't even trying to go for height control, as I've easily got 5.5' of vertical grow space. I just wanted to increase my yield. But I haven't had to raise the lights even one inch since I started tying these babies.... talk about stealth and ability to grow in very tiny spaces!

Keep in mind, too, that most people who LST their MJ end up trimming quite a few leaves at the bottom (including those who don't lollipop normally); otherwise there's likely to not be enough air circulation down there, which of course can lead to nasty molds or bugs, etc.! I've done a lot of tucking leaves so that the new growth shoots have lots of light to get as big as they can, but have run out of places to tuck one more leaf! So far I've only had to trim a few leaves from each of these four, and a couple/few have fallen off on their own from each as well. Solely due to less air circulation down in the bottom of these mini forests. So if you LST with more than just one or two basic ties, you'll most likely have to bite the bullet and trim a few leaves. But there is such an explosion of growth, your plants will not miss a single leaf! ;)
