Stoned Question! Check Out My Idea

I wanna know if this has ever been done or if it would work or be useful in any way I was just high as a kite when I came up with it.

What if someone were to suspend a plant upside down so that the leaves were below some sort of mesh, the soil was on TOP and kept moist, and the roots grew upwards into the soil and THEN you have your lights just below it and then your plants grow towards the light and ALSO are assisted by gravity?? Can you trick a weed plant? Or are marijuana plants smart enough to know that they are supposed to grow AWAY from gravity?

If it can be done then I hereby patent this idea @ 0320Z on July 7th 2009! And I shall name it the Gravity Grow! :D

Haha actually I don't have a tv, I wouldn't watch it if I had it. But damn I guess that means the idea isn't very original lol. It's hard to come up with new shit, there's too many damn people in the world always thinking of things lmao

its wrong that plant would be upside down, and i think the plant is smart enough that it realizes what position it is:)

Wow I guess I just said what many people have had on the tip of their tongues already! But the weird part is I actually have never seen that tomato thing. It just hit me, why not grow it upside down and raise your plants instead of always having issues raising your light fixtures. It would be much easier to raise a hanging plant and have fixed lights on bottom. Anyway if anyone ever does it I wanna see how it goes lol!

FDD did an outdoor grow using the Topsy Turvy I think in 2008. Do a search for it and you'll find the thread.

I've not seen anyone using one indoors however...you can get them pretty easily...I think wal-mart has them...

Naw bro, Every plant species there is in the world fights against gravity. The topsy turvey thing is crap. Roots don't want to grow upward and plants don't want to grow downward. The whole time the plant is upsidedown its trying to fight its way back up. So it spends alot of its resources on trying to right itself instead of growing properly. You get smaller harvests, "but hey doesn't my shit look cool hanging from the ceiling?" is something you can be bragging about to all the ladies.

EVERY?

some one has a crystal ball..... lol

There are Vines that grow in every direction possible, there are also many weeds, gourds, and other plants that prefer growing horizontal...

i think your crystal ball has a crack in it.

So I'm a new grower and insted of growin like every one else I made my plants grow upside down.
They are growing fast and strong they have thick stocks the smell is so nice they are just starting to sprout the little branches off the stock the water leaves are huge and healthy. I don't hav them on any real set cycle they are just hangin out in one of those tarp sheds in my back yard the top is clear so the sun gets in and it keeps the area humid. I water every other day I check on them every day.

Any ways I came across my main plant and it has a brake in the main stem how do I fix this I splinted it with a straw right now but not sure if there is somthing else I should do other than hope it fixes it self
any ways if u could give me some info or help that would be kool
thanks

I'm not sure what to do about an injured stem, but if you are able you should take a couple pics of your plants because I've been waiting to see someone do the upside-down grow for a while now. :)
