Call me crazy but what I would do in your shoes is bury the big stretch of empty stem most of the way up, and kick your wattage up a notch and I bet they will take off from there, I had the same problem once

it all depends on the soil and lighting conditions. Many soils can stunt plant growth, you want a light, airy soil that retains alot of moisture. if those plants in your first post are 1 week from sprouting soil, they look a little stunted. They also look a little stretched from not enough light.

Now that I take a closer look, your containers look kinda muddy, are you overwatering? Try putting some drain holes in the bottoms of your cups so you know tha you're not flooding them. And it doesn't take long for the roots to hit the edge of those, when I had that issue I just transplanted to a bigger pot with lots more fresh soil and watered evenly once a day running 24h light - 26w CFL bulbs about an inch away, in a day or two they stopped growing up and started producing more leaves and grew outward :) Hope this helps some!

Yes sir, the soil a few of those are in is from outside and its tight, like a solid lump, would it be ok to transplant em?

I need 80 bucks then I get do a CFL setup. Was gonna go HPS but no one is buying my car stereo yet lol. 3 that didnt grow up (just germinated and they sprouted a tiny bit) are in good organic potting soil and peat/hummus mix. Nah they arent over watered and they have holes in the bottom, that soil is think though lol, all one lump lulz.

If im gonna transplant, should I use the old soil and just put them in a bigger bucket or try to take em out of the soil and put them into a mix of good soil.

You'll need to ask an expert on that one, If your dirt is solid it's probably not much good, but it's dangerous to take it our of dirt, you'll probably shock them. I would keep as little of that dirt as possible and transplant soon and they will probably be kinda stunted for a day or more until the roots adjust, they aren't beyond recovery though!

Im probably just gonna take em and plant em out in a field somewhere for now, i have more seeds. It was my cousins idiotic idea saying oh one t12 is plenty of light to grow plants blah blah blah, i told him no but whatever...

Im gonna wait to start growin again until i have atleast 5 30 watt cfl bulbs

To put things into perspective, I've had this one hovering an inch below a 26w CFL for a week and a half and this is where it's at, it's a medical seed, watered generously once a day and 24h lights.

I suggest transplanting ASAP, the blacker the soil the better. I use FoxFarm OceanForest soil, 100% organic and cheap, my plants love it!

As for lighting, you will probly get the same results with CFL that you got with the t12. I would save up for a 250watt HPS, it will be well worth the money. I got my 250w HPS for only 99$ from HTGSupply.

You should even still consider transplating really soon, I just transplanted mine today (the one in the pic above) and the roots are bigger than any one of your containers and my plant is only 4 inches tall. And try some nice soft dark soil, I mixed Perlite with my potting soil and it feels awesome, I almost wanna plant myself in there. And since you're going with a small CFL setup from what I can see, you might wanna check out my setup.

K i will, im gonna transplant tomorrow

how should I do it, use the old dirt or crumble it apart and just take the plant and the roots and put it in new soil?

I have an old PC case, i may use that, thats only temporary, my cousin is gonna pitch in 25 and we are gonna get 4 more bulbs

I wouldn't mess with it too much personally, when you try to transplant it a lot of that dirt will probably fall off on it's own whether you want it to or not, and I bet you're roots are nearing the bottom of your cups anyway. Just use your judgement, maybe research a little how to handle plants/roots withough injuring or stunting them.

And your 4 bulbs can produce more light than you think, you just need to have them placed well and if you have them in a confined area with bright or reflective walls it will give you more light too. A PC case isn't a bad idea at all

Ok I transplanted em today, 3 have nice strong stems one is weaker but hanging on. We rigged the lights handing from the top of my box upstairs instead of duct taped to a suitcase lol, one fell of and broke when i did that. So im down to 3 lights, but ill be up to 5 tomorrow, more if my cousin gets some sockets. we are probably gonna run 7 total and try to close off the box so they are in a smaller space and line it with foil. Ill have new pics tomorrow, they took off though havin the CFLs up there.

In the long run you'll spend more than 10$ on batteries for your fan, for that reason I chose to go with the AC/DC 12v adapter. Pretty straight forward wiring if and I paid 10$ for mine :)
Keep us posted on how your plants do in their new environment too, I'll be following this dude, best of luck!
