I just had a red stem problem. If your stems are red and the leaves are DARK GREEN with the veins starting to turn red you may have a phosphorus problem.

yo fellow horticultural scientists....

there are two common problems; leaves turning yellow or stems turning purple.

the first problem is a due to a Nitrogen deficiency or the plant is concentrating on new shoot development, in which case there is no real problem.

the second is due to acidity - the pH is low due to over fertilization. A remedy would be to drain of the soil with water or to adjust the hydro solution.

Inform us of how it goes......

Red stems can mean a few things. When I had red stems it was because of heat. Im pretty sure thats the most common reason. The plants could also be stressed. It might even be the strain like some other people have said.

oyouknow..more info on the grow? What are the temps, RH, water pH...etc. The plants might have slowed their growth from the stress of moving but I doubt it would do it too much. This could also be why the stems are red. Good luck..let us know your conditions! bongsmilie

the stems and parts of the trunk turn a reddy purply color, becoming more prominent during the flowering stage. Buds are sticky with resin, with some leaves around the top of the buds that are a fawny color with purply serrations, and a sweet fruity hashy smell. is this deficiency or normal?

I've hear people say its a Magnesium deficiency, but I think that's BS. I'm pretty sure that's just how they are supposed to look.
